We’re excited to present these master-made bows from
Steffen Kuhnla of Bad Bambrach, Germany. Having
apprenticed with R. Messing, C.O. Dürrschmidt and
R.H. Leicht in the 1980s, Kuhnla became a master
bowmaker in 1988 and has crafted outstanding bows for
thousands of musicians since that time. The choice selection
of pernambuco and Kuhnla’s exacting craftsmanship
produces bows that play effortlessly, speak with clarity,
and reveal the full range of the instrument’s tone. 4/4
Charles Michel
Violin VB60 $ 2,400
Cello CB60 $ 2,900
This beautiful bow is crafted with typical French panache.
The silver-mounted Charles Michel bow boasts lovely
workmanship and graceful proportions. Made by our
partner workshop in Paris, this elegant bow has a strong
but flexible stick, ideal for an advanced player looking for
a bow that produces a warm sound but is equally at home
with rapid strokes and sautille bowing. Round stick, large
pearl eye and classic silver tinsel and silk winding. 4/4
Glasser Braided Carbon Fiber
Violin BCV5 4/4 $ 350
Viola BCA5 4/4 $ 375
Cello BCC5 4/4 $ 425
Bass BCB5 3/4 (full) $ 650
French or German
Designed with the help of a composite process engineer,
and made in Glasser’s all new state-of-the-art California
production facility, these superlative models represent the
latest in bow technology.
These bows offer exceptional performance, are highly
responsive and project a most powerful, clear, rich warm
tone. Unlike standard composite bows, which are hollow,
these bows have a solid core to give them a supple, even
feel and balance. The carbon fibers used to make this
bow are woven into a continuous pattern. This creates a
seamless bow that carries its fiber patterns down its entire
length just as the grain of a wood bow is carried down its
entire length. Nickel-mounted, deluxe ebony frog.
