1. Will operate on energized circuits in limited applications. Will not locate and identify a particular breaker or fuse, but will identify breakers or fuses that share a common bus.
2. Good earth ground required. Attach one prong of transmitter to shield of the cable and the other prong to a good earth ground (such as water pipe, metal building frame, etc.).
3. For circuits without power, hook-up a 9V battery in series with the circuit and transmitter to power the line.
4. Closed circuit applications only.
5. Depends on application – shorter distances for open circuit tracing, longer distances for closed circuit tracing applications.
