'Aye aye, sir. Studdingsails as soon as they
will stand. Captain's compliments to Monsieur
Turd...'
'Dutourd, Mr Norton.'
'Beg pardon, sir. To Monsieur Dutourd and
wishes to see him in ten minutes.'
On receiving this message Dutourd thanked
the midshipman, looked at Martin with a
smile, and began walking up and down from
the taffrail to the leeward bow-chaser and
back again, looking at his watch at each turn.
