But the motion went dead after Mayor
going pay for a fence on land he doesn't
even own. ^ '
"I'm not going to pay for something
that doesn't even belong to me," he said.
Mayor Nate Bello drove a line of
CCBAC reaches out to Quesnel
ANDREA JOHNSON
Observer Editor
Cariboo-Chilcotin Beetle Action
Coalition wanted to reach but to the
community last week.
They did, but only three people from
the public attended the Operation
Outreach meeting to discuss
CCBAC's Economic Development
Working Group.
CCBAC was formed with the
intent of helping forest-based
communities of Quesnel, WilUams
Lake and 100 Mile House deal with
the aftermath of the mountain pine
beetle infestation.
That includes developing local
solutions to the huge economic
impacts the mountain pine beetle
will cause.
CCBAC manager Keith Dufresne
told the small audience Oct. 11 a
lot has been done since the group
hatched in 2005. The board received
$2.54 million from the provincial
government to design an adequate
plan.
"Our pine beetle' governance
group started in September, we've
approved sector strategies such as
agriculture and conservation and
proposed sector strategies such as
mining," he said.
"The social development working
group was approved and they had
their first meeting in September. We
have a meeting in Victoria in mid-
November.
the Environment Ministry reported.
"If significant rainfall does not occur in
