How does <strong>ThermoCYCLE</strong> ® work?<br />

Warm grey water<br />

(Wastewater from bath, shower,<br />

washing machine… no wastewater<br />

containing faeces, oil or fat).<br />

In a separate wastewater supply pipe ➀ the warm<br />

grey water (from the shower, the washing<br />

machine...) feeds through the <strong>ThermoCYCLE</strong> ® . An<br />

ingenious filter system ➁ ensures that contaminants<br />

in the grey water (such as hair, fluff or<br />

sand…) are kept back. The heat exchanger ➂<br />

extracts the heat contained in the filtered grey<br />

water. The cooled wastewater ➃ then flows into<br />

the sewers. The fully automatic filter cleaning system<br />

➄ flushes out any contaminants ➅ at individually<br />

definable intervals, also feeding them into the<br />

sewers. This ensures smooth operation without<br />

disruption. A bypass ➆ also ensures guaranteed,<br />

smooth flow.<br />

What means grey water?<br />

Grey water is wastewater from the bath, shower, washbasin and washing machine.<br />

It is created continuously in almost constant quantities – independently of the season or the weather.<br />

What means heat recovery?<br />

Everyone knows that good insulation keeps warmth<br />

inside a building. There are other sources of heat,<br />

besides room heat, that should not leave your building,<br />

namely the 28°C - 40°C warm wastewater from your<br />

shower, washbasin or washing machine … (grey<br />

water). Unfortunately this thermal potential discharges<br />

into the sewers all around the world.<br />

<strong>Forstner</strong> has developed the <strong>ThermoCYCLE</strong> ® heat<br />

recovery system in order to use this heat source efficiently.<br />

The highly efficient process of the patented<br />

<strong>ThermoCYCLE</strong> ® extracts valuable energy from the<br />

grey water as it flows off. Without seperate costs this<br />

heat is used indirectly to pre-heat service water<br />

and/or to support the heating system.<br />

Field of application<br />

where warm water flows off, as in a sports or leisure<br />

Conditions of installation<br />

In order to use grey water you need a wastewater<br />

pipe system that is separated from the black water<br />

(e.g. waste water from toilets or the kitchen). This is<br />

easy and inexpensive to realise in new buildings or<br />

in the course of general renovations.<br />
