305. INDICATING PRECEDENCE IN A PRELIMINARY CALL<br />

a. Precedence may be indicated in a preliminary call as follows:<br />

UNCLASSIFIED 3-3<br />

Z I have flash traffic to transmit.<br />

O I have immediate traffic to transmit.<br />

P I have priority traffic to transmit.<br />

R I have routine traffic to transmit.<br />

EXAMPLE: (NPQT tells A1QR that he has priority traffic to transmit.)<br />

A1QR DE NPQT P K<br />

b. To indicate a number of messages of one or more precedences in a preliminary call the<br />

operating signal ZBO shall be used.<br />

306. ANSWERING<br />

EXAMPLE 1: (Free or Directed Net.)<br />

GABB DE NPQS ZBO 3P 2R K<br />

EXAMPLE 2: (Directed Net. NPQS tells GABB that he has two<br />

priority messages for NPQT)<br />

GABB DE NPQS ZBO 2P NPQT K<br />

EXAMPLE 3: (Directed Net. NPQS tells GABB that he has 7<br />

routine messages for GABB and 2 priority and 4<br />

routine messages for NPQT)<br />

a. To answer a preliminary call, stations will transmit the identification of the calling<br />

station, the prosign DE, the identification of the answering station and the prosign K.<br />

EXAMPLE:<br />

b. After good <strong>communication</strong> has been established an answer may consist of the prosign<br />

DE, the identification of the answering station and the prosign K. This is an ABBREVIATED<br />

ANSWER.
