This class mainly occurs on streamsides but may also be found along boundaries<br />

or in small relict fragments of vegetation on variable soil types. It is common<br />

<strong>and</strong> has false oat-grass (Arrhenathrum elatius), cleavers (Galium aparine) <strong>and</strong><br />

common nettle (Urtica dioica) as the main cover species. The class is quite<br />

diverse with characteristic plants such as great willowherb (Epilobium<br />

hirsutum), creeping thistle (Cirsium arvense) <strong>and</strong> hedge bindweed (Calystegia<br />

sepium). The distribution of this class is mainly in East Anglia, southern Engl<strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>and</strong> the Midl<strong>and</strong>s, with outliers elsewhere in the lowl<strong>and</strong>s.<br />
