This class mainly occurs along roadsides, but is also common along boundaries<br />
hedges, as well as sometimes on fields <strong>and</strong> it is mainly on brown soils. It is<br />
quite common <strong>and</strong> has false oat-grass (Arrhenathrum elatius) <strong>and</strong> common<br />
couch (Elymus repens) as the main cover species, with red fescue (Festuca<br />
rubra) often important. The class is of average diversity with plants such as<br />
field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis), common knapweed (Centaurea nigra)<br />
<strong>and</strong> yarrow (Achillea millefolium) as characteristic species. This class is present<br />
throughout lowl<strong>and</strong> Britain, but is especially common in the south <strong>and</strong> east.<br />
