Following a most successful
Wilmington senior topics
Hundreds at Elks function
Seniors are deeply grateful to the
Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks who
again gave 250 Wilmington seniors
a night to remember. As in previous
years, it was amazing to see these
men and women all volunteering
their time working so hard to
please, preparing and serving this
large group of delighted seniors.
I think this must be a labor of love
for all the members involved, as the
most of them had finished working
hard at their employment
throughout the day. All had to be
tired, but the way they covered all
the tables in such a pleasant manner,
one would not have noticed it.
Again we thank all the members of
the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks
for this yearly donation that the
seniors look forward to.
Commissioners meet Nov. 15
The commissioners meeting will
be held in the function room of the
Senior Center, 15 School St.,
Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 1:30 p.m.
Unfortunately, I was not able to
attend the last two meetings. I have
received many calls from confused
seniors. I will answer all the
questions asked of me at this
meeting. As I have said in this
column many times, this is a
commissioners meeting, but it is
also your meeting where the seniors
can meet to voice their input into
subjects that will effect them, placed
on the floor for a vote.
That is what we, in America call
the democratic form of
GovernmcnL Our input might be
voted out by the majority, but we at
least had the opportunity to give \t.
Unless you attend the meetings,
votes will be taken and passed
without your approval or
disapproval. It is very important for
all of us to be in auendancc at every
monthly meeting. The next one
being next Tuesday.
Dr. Mullin
Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 9 a.m.,
Dr. Mullin will be at the Center to
treat ailments of the feet. Please call
for an appointment.
