Writing Competitions NOTE: No monetary prize is offered for the FAW Wooden Horse Award. The statuette is held by the winner for 12 months, then returned and passed on to the next winner for the following year. Closing date 31 october 2011: POSITIVE WORDS END-OF-YEAR SHORT STORY & POETRY COMPETITION 2011 • Category A: OPEN SHORT STORY up to 500 words. • Category B: OPEN POETRY up to 32 lines. ENTRY FEE: $3.60 per entry or 4 entries for $12.00. Cheques, money orders or the equivalent in unused stamps (60cent or $1.20 preferred) will be accepted as payment. Please make cheques payable to S. FAW LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION The Fellowship of Australian Writers New South Wales Inc invites submissions for the design of a LOGO that will give us a contemporary new look to attract budding writers to join us, while at the same time reflecting the aims and objectives of the organisation and its historical contribution to Australian writing. The prize for the selected entry is $500. Entries must be original, creative and exciting, representing to the audience the aims and objectives of the Fellowship and its new slogan “The Fellowship of Australian Writers New South Wales Inc – proud of its long history, excited about its future”. We need a design that will reproduce well in black and white, two colours and full colour mode, for use on the FAW website and social networking sites, in Writers Voice, on our stationery, and any other purpose deemed to be suitable. The winner will be invited to the FAW Annual Luncheon to be held in Sydney on 3rd December 2011 where the new logo will be launched. So start putting your ideas on paper and it could be YOUR concept that takes the FAW forward through the next decade!
