Zillij<br />
A highly trained zillij carver sits at his station and<br />
chips off the specialized design from a glazed tile<br />
with a sharp chisel pointed hammer<br />
The zillij Master works from a penciled design on<br />
the cement floor, taking each shape and color and<br />
places them face down on the cement<br />
When the design is complete, a wooden form will<br />
be secured around the panel, and cement will be<br />
poured all over the back. When dry the panel will<br />
be turned over and additional grout if any needed<br />
will be applied.
