THE MECHANISM OF DIGESTION<br />
Has man ever produced a machine that can rival the human digestive track?<br />
Starchy and sweet foods, such as bread, cereal, potatoes, etc. must be<br />
chewed well and mixed with saliva where it is acted upon by the ptyalin that<br />
will act upon this class <strong>of</strong> foods. With out this preparation what will be<br />
certain to happen with these foods?<br />
Starches and sugars must have an alkaline digestion or the results will be<br />
much acid and fermentation. Is it no wonder civilized man is committing<br />
suicide at the table with in his own home! It is so easy to eat according to<br />
Nature and so impossible to eat against Nature. Who’s mistake is this,<br />
man’s or Nature’s?<br />
