2- <strong>The</strong> ten days <strong>of</strong> Thul-Hijja:<br />
Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with <strong>the</strong>m) reported: <strong>The</strong> Messenger <strong>of</strong> Allah (PBUH)<br />
said, "<strong>The</strong>re are no days during which <strong>the</strong> righteous action is so pleasing <strong>to</strong> Allah than<br />
<strong>the</strong>se days (i.e., <strong>the</strong> first ten days <strong>of</strong> Dhul-Hijjah).'' He was asked: "O Messenger <strong>of</strong> Allah,<br />
not even Jihad in <strong>the</strong> Cause <strong>of</strong> Allah?'' He (PBUH) replied, "Not even Jihad in <strong>the</strong> Cause <strong>of</strong><br />
Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his property and does not return with<br />
ei<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> it.''(Al-Bukhari).<br />
To fur<strong>the</strong>r emphasize <strong>the</strong> importance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ten days <strong>of</strong> Thul-Hijja, Allah, <strong>the</strong> Exalted, swore<br />

“By <strong>the</strong> dawn;{1} By <strong>the</strong> ten nights (i.e. <strong>the</strong> first ten days <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> month <strong>of</strong> Dhul-Hijjah),{2}<br />
And by <strong>the</strong> even and <strong>the</strong> odd (<strong>of</strong> all <strong>the</strong> creations <strong>of</strong> Allah).{3} (Surat Al-Fajr).<br />
<strong>The</strong> religious scholars said that <strong>the</strong> Even (Shafi-iy) means <strong>the</strong> ten days <strong>of</strong> Thul-Hijja.<br />
<strong>The</strong>refore, make sure that you don’t miss <strong>the</strong>se days <strong>of</strong> Thul-Hijja and perform as much<br />
as you can <strong>of</strong> good deeds such as reading <strong>the</strong> Holy Quran, giving charity, praying and fasting<br />
especially for <strong>the</strong> Muslims who live in Makkah and Madeena. Particularly, fasting <strong>the</strong> day <strong>of</strong><br />
‘Arafa and sacrificing in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Day</strong> <strong>of</strong> Slaughter because <strong>the</strong>y are Sunnahs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Prophet Mo-<br />

3- Times in which supplications are accepted:<br />
A- Supplications during <strong>the</strong> last hours <strong>of</strong> night:<br />
It was related that Jabir said: “I heard <strong>the</strong> Prophet say: ‘Every night <strong>the</strong>re is a special<br />
time during which whatever a Muslim asks Allah <strong>of</strong> any good relating <strong>to</strong> this life or <strong>the</strong><br />
Hereafter, it will be granted <strong>to</strong> him; and this moment comes every night.’” (Sahih Muslim).<br />
Supplications during <strong>the</strong> last hours <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> night especially when <strong>the</strong> servant is praying <strong>the</strong><br />
night prayer (Tahajjud) and talking <strong>to</strong> Allah in secret; that is one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> occasions <strong>of</strong> accep-<br />
tance. <strong>The</strong> Prophet Mohammad said: “Our Lord, <strong>the</strong> Blessed, <strong>the</strong> Superior, comes down<br />
every night <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> nearest heaven <strong>to</strong> us during <strong>the</strong> last third <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> night and He says: (Is<br />
