We recognize that obtaining a good quality plaque at a reasonable price has been difficult
for you. Customizing the plaque for Legion use proved difficult when digital artwork
was required and in the end you had a product made of some composite material, yet
it seemed like you were paying for a precious metal. The difficult part for us has always
been the custom engraving which meant that every plaque ordered had to be dealt with
as a separate order. Here we offer to you plaques designed and made for the Legion but
supplied with the engraving plates blank so that you may have them engraved locally.
These 6 different plaques are made in Canada from solid wood. They have been laser
engraved to include images of the six most popular sporting events held throughout
Legion branches. All of these routed solid maple 8” x 10” plaques include a 5” laser engraved
Legion badge and 1 ½” x 3” un-mounted (two-sided tape supplied) engraving plate.
Shield Plaques
Gold Plated Badge
We try our best to provide you with the
plaques and supplies necessary to operate
your branches, to honour Veterans, and
to acknowledge volunteers who provide
countless hours of service. In spite of our
efforts, on a daily basis, we are asked for a
different plaque, urn, or some other item
that we just hadn’t thought of or that it just
isn’t economical to make in small quantities.
It is those requests that inspire us to offer this
cast Legion Badge all by itself. This Badge is
available for all those items that we just can’t make. The casting
measures 3³∕₈” in height by 2¹∕₈” wide and has multiple layers of gold
plating over a very hard steel casting. A small bolt, with included
nut, has been welded into the back to assist in mounting the Badge
to a variety of surfaces.
700323 $13.95
Bronze Plaque Badge, Legion or LA
Our frequent experience with Murphy’s Law makes us recognize
that the plaques we offer are very likely exactly the wrong size
for your requirement. To compensate, we are offering
the high quality bronze cast badges (both
Legion and LA) to you without the plaque,
so that it can be mounted on your own
customized plaque or award. The casting
measures 5” in height by 3¼” wide.
400184 LA $13.95
occasions that we offer this presentation box. These 6” high by 3”
composite, and the inside of the
You may never need one of these little devices, but if you do,
you’ll be ever so thankful you have one. When called upon for
the presentation of a medal requiring you to pin the medal on the
recipient, sometimes it can present a challenge. The presentation
ceremony grinds to a halt and all eyes are focused
on you as you struggle to get the pin back
stuck through the recipient’s garment and
closed so that it doesn’t fall off. Seconds
seem like hours. With this handy device
pinned to the garment or attached to the
medal beforehand, fastening the medal to
someone’s chest becomes a graceful, quick
gesture.
400194 $4.95
In recent years there has been a type of ceremony that has been growing in popularity in some
regions of the country. This service, called Candlelight Tribute Ceremony, was started in the
Netherlands in 1995 when Dutch children placed lighted candles on the graves of Canadian
Soldiers, leaving them burning overnight in silent tribute to the fallen. Since that time, these
tributes have spread across Europe, and were introduced into certain areas of Canada.
In response to an increasing number of requests for a candle that would suit this purpose, the
Supply Department has selected a candle light that is made in the Netherlands specifically
for this purpose. The Stormy Weather Graveyard Light was introduced in 1963 by Bolsius,
a family-run company that started in 1871. The simple yet elegant design of these candles
features a 100% pure refined paraffin candle, contained in a durable translucent red plastic
shell with a flame-proof, weather resistant metal cap. Suitable for outdoor use only, this 5
inch high candle is easy to light and will burn for 50-60 hours, in temperatures from +25 to
-10 Celsius. The subtle glow of these candle lights, especially when used in numbers, creates a
solemn and unforgettable image for your evening Remembrance or Memorial event.
