Heavy duty transmission axle identification
Transmission indentification
Current design main and auxiliary transmissions can be identified by an alphabetical, numeric or alpha/numeric code. The various
letters and numbers indicate teh relative torque capacity, type (model), speeds and various modifications.
To identify your transmission model:
1. Refer to the I.D. tag fixed to the transmission case
2. Refer to the stamping located on the transmission case
3. Refer to the truck Bill of Material, Broadcast Sheet, Certification Label, Line Ticket, Service Parts I.D. Tag, Specification List or
Vehicle Data Plate. This type of identification is located inside the cab or attached to the cab door. This data represents only the
vehicle when it was shipped from the factory.
4. Unless otherwise noted, the cataloged kit services all variations of the model listed.
