A task<strong>for</strong>ce convened by the <strong>Oklahoma</strong> Department of<br />

Human Services Child Care Services developed the<br />

<strong>Oklahoma</strong> <strong>Early</strong> <strong>Learning</strong> <strong>Guidelines</strong>. Task<strong>for</strong>ce members<br />

included representatives from the Center <strong>for</strong> <strong>Early</strong> Childhood<br />

Professional Development, <strong>Oklahoma</strong> Child Care Resource<br />

<strong>and</strong> Referral Association <strong>and</strong> its affiliates, <strong>Oklahoma</strong><br />

Department of Career Technology Education, <strong>Oklahoma</strong><br />

Head Start/<strong>Early</strong> Head Start, <strong>Oklahoma</strong> State Department<br />

of Education, <strong>Oklahoma</strong> State Department of Health,<br />

<strong>Oklahoma</strong> State Regents <strong>for</strong> Higher Education, <strong>Oklahoma</strong><br />

Tribal Child Care Association, child care programs,<br />

community colleges <strong>and</strong> universities.<br />

The guidelines are designed to align with the <strong>Oklahoma</strong><br />

Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS), Head Start<br />

Per<strong>for</strong>mance St<strong>and</strong>ards, <strong>and</strong> <strong>Oklahoma</strong> <strong>Early</strong> <strong>Learning</strong><br />

<strong>Guidelines</strong> <strong>for</strong> Children Ages Three through Five, <strong>and</strong> to<br />

promote early learning experiences that lead to children’s<br />

success.<br />

Please provide comments based on your experience with the<br />

guidelines. Provide the corresponding page number <strong>for</strong><br />

suggested language revisions <strong>and</strong> comments. Also note if the<br />

st<strong>and</strong>ards are underst<strong>and</strong>able <strong>and</strong> whether they are useful<br />

when planning activities <strong>for</strong> children.<br />

All comments will be reviewed by the Task Force. Revisions<br />

will be made to the guidelines based on feedback <strong>and</strong> early<br />
