Once they are back <strong>in</strong> <strong>Morocco</strong>, return migrants often resettle <strong>in</strong> the big cities <strong>and</strong><br />
the urban areas. As can be seen from Figure 5, the return migrants ma<strong>in</strong>ly reside <strong>in</strong> the<br />
urban regions of Rabat, Gr<strong>and</strong>-Casablanca, <strong>and</strong> Oriental. Next to where the migrants<br />
return, it is also important to <strong>in</strong>vestigate under what conditions migrants return to their<br />
orig<strong>in</strong> country. The survey conducted by INSEA 6 (2000) among 1467 Moroccans <strong>in</strong><br />
Casablanca <strong>and</strong> Souss-Massa-Draa <strong>in</strong>dicates that more than half of the respondents were<br />
<strong>in</strong> favor of permanent return to <strong>Morocco</strong> if the <strong>in</strong>vestment conditions <strong>in</strong> <strong>Morocco</strong> would<br />
be favorable. Moreover, almost 45 percent of the respondents stated that they would like<br />
to spend their retirement time <strong>in</strong> their home country.<br />
