Overview:<br />

The HPHS Academy of Nursing and Health Sciences is a National Academy Foundation (NAF) school, developed to prepare<br />

students to successfully pursue a degree in nursing or related healthcare/science-based courses of study.<br />

The Academy promotes lifelong learning and healthy lifestyles in a safe and supportive environment. The school has<br />

engaged highly qualified teachers who prepare young men and women, through collaboration with rigorous, multicultural<br />

academic and enrichment programs, clinical experience and community/parent partnerships, to pursue a post-secondary<br />

college or career program. Students graduate with a rigorous, high-quality education, gained through academics,<br />

enrichment programs and nursing and healthcare care related internships and community service.<br />

Nursing and health care themes are threaded through the entire curriculum. For example, the Academy’s greenhouse is<br />

used to teach students about holistic health and nutrition, and t<strong>here</strong> are multiple science labs and technology that simulate<br />

various healthcare environments.<br />
