Our SVDP Conference Meeting on this coming<br />

Tuesday, September 18, will begin with <strong>the</strong> following<br />

prayer: "Lord Jesus, <strong>de</strong>epen our Vincentian<br />

spirit of friendship during this meeting, make us<br />

responsive to <strong>the</strong> Christian calling to seek and find<br />

<strong>the</strong> forgotten, <strong>the</strong> suffering, and <strong>the</strong> <strong>de</strong>prived so<br />

that we may bring <strong>the</strong>m Your love.<br />

Help us to be generous with our time, our possessions,<br />

and ourselves in this mission of charity." The<br />

one-hour meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.<br />

and is held in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Church</strong> Meeting Room.<br />

Summer is over and fall is just on <strong>the</strong> horizon. Fall<br />

can be a beautiful time of <strong>the</strong> year but for some it<br />

may seem cold and lonely, especially if <strong>the</strong>y suffered<br />

a loss or experienced a crisis. Our <strong>St</strong>ephen<br />

Ministers are trained to help people through <strong>the</strong><br />

"winters" of life, providing emotional and spiritual<br />

support during tough times. If you or someone<br />

you know could benefit from <strong>the</strong> confi<strong>de</strong>ntial, oneto-one<br />

Christian care of a <strong>St</strong>ephen Minister, contact<br />

(6:00 PM), dinner, speaker; & finish with a<br />

Deca<strong>de</strong> of <strong>the</strong> Rosary & <strong>the</strong> Prayer for Vocations<br />

HANDI-KNIGHTS<br />

The Handi-Knights is a program to help those in<br />

our parish and <strong>the</strong> community with Household<br />

repairs that <strong>the</strong>y are unable to do because of<br />

physical or financial limitations. If anyone has <strong>the</strong><br />

need for help call Paul Prendiville 584-4149.<br />

Outreach & Support<br />

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP<br />

Our parish grief support group for parents<br />

who have experienced <strong>the</strong> loss of a child is<br />

beginning again.<br />

It is our hope that here, within a loving spiritual<br />

environment, you will find companions who will<br />

walk alongsi<strong>de</strong> you on your grief journey. We<br />

would like to invite you to join us our meetings<br />

are on Tuesdays, at 7 P.M. in Room 220, located<br />

on <strong>the</strong> second floor of <strong>the</strong> school. The group<br />

will meet on Tuesday evening for eight weeks.<br />

COME AND JOIN THE BLINKY PATROL<br />

Wednesday September 19th at 9 A.M.<br />

Now that summer is over <strong>the</strong> Binky Patrol will<br />

resume <strong>the</strong>ir monthly meetings on Wednesday<br />

September 19th at 9 A.M. in <strong>the</strong> copy room.<br />

The Binky Patrol sews or knits small quilts for<br />

babies born with addiction, and babies and children<br />

with AIDS or o<strong>the</strong>r illnesses. The blankets<br />

are distruibuted through CHOC, Birthright,<br />

Laura’s House, Toby’s House, Cathy’s House<br />

and o<strong>the</strong>r facilities that care for babies and children<br />

in need. Donations of fabric, flannel, fleece<br />

and batting are nee<strong>de</strong>d. For more information<br />

Join <strong>the</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> Social Justice Ministry as we<br />

advocate eliminating <strong>the</strong> <strong>de</strong>ath penalty and replacing<br />

it with life in prison without <strong>the</strong> possibility<br />

of parole. Our next meeting is October<br />
