First recognition was given to the backbone of the
Club by announcing the driving awards. Chuck Sharp
and David Kochanek announced all the AX and TT
class winners.
They then gave special recognition to several participants
including Casey Corwin and Dan Chambers.

Doug Briggs- Instructor of the Year
Next Dan Chambers announced that Doug Briggs is
recognized for his outstanding contributions as a
driving instructor.
The 2006 Board of Directors also selected several
special awards for 2006.
The following were recognized for their outstanding
individual effort:
Kathy Alnwick, Social Chair
Gary Peterson, Membership and Witness Business
Chair
Steve Grosekemper, Rules Chair.
The Board also recognized Chuck, Debby and Greg
Sharp as the family of the year.

Finally and most significantly, Jack and Ginny Case
were recognized for their long-standing support and
contributions to the San Diego Region.
Terry Wells, of Porsche Cars North America gave a
short talk on how well Porsche sales are going and
thanked us for our enthusiasm and support.

Keith Verlaque then proceeded to conduct the live
auction. Two wonderful donations were made for the
live auction. First, Paul & Ruth Young donated another
fabulous gourmet dinner. To make this even more
enticing, Keith announced that the Young’s would
match the winning bid price with a bottle of wine of
equal value. The bidding war was on between Tom
Brown and Winnie Meiser. However, George finally
controlled (no easy task) Winnie’s ever-extended arm.
And Susan Brown just covered her face as Tom finally
won out. Oh to be so lucky to taste that $2600 bottle of
wine along with that sumptuous dinner.
