Page & Moy like to invite guest speakers, port lecturers and entertainers aboard to add a 

little extra to your holiday. What’s more, on days at sea, or when not sightseeing, there are a 

variety of things to do. 

Our on board entertainment team can bring you a whole 

range of activities, from arts and crafts to traditional deck 

games. There are also films shown regularly in the luxurious 

and comfortable cinema. Join in with one of the exercise 

classes or relax with live music. 

INTERESTING & INFORMATIVE 

Our on-board port lecturers will give a real insight into 

the ports you will visit whilst on your cruise. They will be 

joined by fascinating guest speakers including Tracy Martin 

(collectables expert), David Saunders (sea bird expert and 

naturalist), and Roger Cartwright (military and maritime 

 

lecturers who will be accompanying your cruise on the 

relevant cruise pages. 

FANTASTIC ENTERTAINMENT 

At night, Athena takes on a different persona. Relax over a 

long drink in one of the bars or lounges, be entertained in

The evening meals are the pièce de résistance on board 

Athena with menus designed to give a wide choice of 

mouth-watering dishes including a full vegetarian selection. 

To accompany your meal, there is a carefully selected wine 

list at reasonable prices. Special diets can also be catered for. 

In common with most cruise ships, breakfast and lunch are 

normally open sittings and dinner is served at two sittings. 

ALFRESCO DINING 

When weather allows, you can enjoy a breakfast or lunch 

buffet at the poolside, so you don’t have to miss a minute 

of those stunning views. There is also the option to eat in 

your cabin. Of course, both meals are also served in the 

restaurant, offering you a full menu and waiter service.

A room with a view 

After a full day of sightseeing or relaxation, retire to your 

cabin, a real home-from-home. Perhaps freshen up with 

a shower or a soak in the bath before getting dressed 

for dinner. All cabins are well-appointed and pleasantly 

furnished and each has private facilities including a 

shower and bath, telephone and TV, safe and airconditioning. 

Suites also have DVD players. An excellent 

feature of most outside cabins is the large windows, 

giving the cabins a light and airy feel, not to mention the 

excellent views. 

THE CHOICE IS YOURS 

There are a range of cabins available offering different 

levels of comfort starting with the inside two-bedded 

cabin on Aegean or Pacific in category A. If you think 

you will want to spend more time in your cabin, you 

may wish to pay a little more for an outside cabin with a 

window or porthole, or for a cabin on a higher deck. Our 

Junior Suites are the ultimate in comfort with a lounge 

area and whirlpool bath. We also have a number of 

Deluxe Suites with a separate lounge and private balcony, 

making your trip extra special.

Tiki Museum which houses the original Balsa-wood raft used 

by Thor Heyerdahl for his voyage from Peru to Polynesia; 

and a museum dedicated to the Fram, the extraordinary 

ship that helped Roald Amundsen to become the first man 

to reach the South Pole. Perhaps take the time to visit the 

Vigeland Sculpture Park, featuring 200 bronze, granite and 

iron statues created by the artist Gustav Vigeland. 

DAY 4 KALUNDBORG (for Copenhagen) 

This Danish city is famous for its five-spired church, which 

is built in the shape of a Greek cross and dominates the 

landscape. From here, you can visit the Danish capital, 

Copenhagen, with its charming streets and picturesque 

canals. Take a tour of the city to see the highlights, from 

Amalienborg Palace, and the magnificent Tivoli Gardens. 

Then make time to see the Chinese sculpture in place of 

the Little Mermaid Statue on the Langelinie Pier. The Little 

Mermaid is on display in Shanghai as part of Expo 2010. 


DAY 6 STOCKHOLM 

Sweden’s capital is a beautiful city of culture and history. 

Stroll around the narrow mediaeval alleyways, cobbled 

courtyards and tall merchants’ houses of Gamla Stan, the 

old town and home to the Royal Palace. Be sure to visit the 

impressive Storkyvan cathedral and the Vasa Museum. 

DAY 7 HELSINKI 

Finland’s capital is an elegant city with the well-preserved 

charm of a small 19th-century seaport. Step ashore to

One of Europe’s most beautiful cities, with its magnificent 

baroque palaces, ornate cathedrals and picturesque canals. 

Our overnight stay in St Petersburg ensures you have ample 

time to join our superb shore excursions. Take time to visit 

the Hermitage Museum and its astounding art collection; 

Peterhof, the tsars’ extravagant Summer Palace; and 

Catherine’s Palace at Pushkin. Perhaps spend the evening at 

the ballet, or at a folklore show. 

DAY 10 TALLINN 

Estonia’s charming capital boasts many treasures. Visit 

the city’s Old Town, which offers a fascinating view of the 

mediaeval wall encompassing the town. A guided walking 

tour will take us to see the Russian Orthodox Church, the 

Gothic Cathedral and the exterior of Toompea Castle. Admire 

the views over the red gabled roofs and spires of the Lower 

Town and visit a mediaeval guild house for a performance of 

Estonian folk dance. 


DAY 12 WARNEMUNDE (for Berlin) 

On the southern coast of the Baltic, the pleasant seaside 

town of Warnemunde is our stepping stone to Berlin. Join our 

full-day excursion to see some of the major attractions in the 

German capital. Don’t miss the Cold War icon of Checkpoint 

Charlie, Charlottenburg Palace or the Reichstag. For those 

who prefer to remain closer to the port, a delightful rail 

journey on the Molli Steam Train takes you past a number of

The pretty, timbered village of Olden, idyllically situated at 

 

of Europe’s most magnificent glaciers, the Jostedal Glacier 

can be seen from here, and its waters flow into another 

stunning sight – the Oldenvatn glacial lake which can be 

found just outside the village itself. Join us on an optional 

shore excursion to the incredible Briksdal Glacier for a closeup 

glimpse of this unique landscape. 

DAY 5 ALESUND 

Built on three islands, the fishing village of Alesund was 

devastated by fire in 1904. It was rebuilt in delightful Art 

 

decorated facades, spires and turrets. Take our harbour cruise 

to see the city from a different perspective as you sail through 

the centre of the city and past the old trading centre of 

Borgund, or take a tour to stunning Geiranger. 


Relax and enjoy the ship’s facilities as we cruise at sea today. 

DAY 7 SEYDISFJORDUR 

Located in east Iceland, Seydisfjordur is a truly beautiful 

place. Lined on all sides by mountains and waterfalls, this 

small town is full of history. It was once a successful fishing 

town and an important trading port for Iceland, in fact,

fishing is still a major trade here today. Take a walk around 

the pretty streets, admiring the timber houses. 

DAY 8 AKUREYRI 

A picturesque and colourful town on the northern coast 

of Iceland, Akureyri is our gateway to some of the most 

intriguing natural wonders of the world. Surrounding sights 

include the stunning Godafoss Waterfall, Lake Myvatn, a 

haven for birdlife, and the boiling mudpools at Dimmubogir. 

One excursion not to be missed is our whale watching trip. We 

take a boat from Husavik harbour and watch for the lifting of 

tails or blowing in the water – a very memorable experience. 

It is the most common to see Minke whales, although on 

 

excursions, it can not be guaranteed that a particular species 

will be seen. 

DAY 9 GRUNDARFJORDUR 

The small fishing village of Grundarfjordur is sat on a 

picturesque natural harbour on the beautiful Snaefellsnes 

 

welcome from the villagers when you disembark Athena. 

Whilst here, take the opportunity to visit the stunning 

 

DAY 10 REYKJAVIK 

Iceland’s colourful capital enjoys a beautiful natural setting 

between the cold waters of the northern Atlantic and 

Iceland’s eerie volcanic landscape. Explore all the natural 

sights with a tour to the geysers, mountains and volcanic 

craters of this spectacular island.

DAY 12 TORSHAVN 

Torshavn is situated on the largest of the 18 Faroe Islands, 

Streymoy. One of the smallest capitals in the world, Torshavn 

is a picturesque town with narrow streets and a leisurely 

air, the old centre with its timber houses, is wonderfully 

 

oldest settlements in the Faroes 

where excavations have found 

remains of viking houses.

The artist Picasso chose to live in La Coruna, surrounded by 

the natural beauty of Galicia in Spain’s northwest corner and 

there are many reminders of the great painter. Perhaps pay 

a visit to the magnificent 12th-century cathedral at Santiago 

de Compostela. 

DAY 4 OPORTO 

 

important city in northern Portugal. This lovely city is home 

to many beautiful buildings, ranging from baroque towers 

to gothic churches. Being on the Douro river means a visit 

to this city isn’t complete without enjoying a relaxing cruise 

down the river. A visit to the wine cellars to sample the locally 

produced port is also a must! 

DAY 5 CRUISING 

DAY 6 FUNCHAL – MADEIRA 

 

spectacular landscapes, traditional villages and its tropical 

flowers. From the pretty capital Funchal our range of shore 

excursions will show you the island’s natural beauty. 

DAY 7 LA PALMA – CANARIES 

We reach the Canary Islands today and call at Santa Cruz, 

the main town of the island of La Palma. A maze of cobbled 

streets lead away from a seafront lined with elegant 

balconied houses. Look out for the Church of San Salvador

contract is subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction 

of the English courts. A binding contract comes into place 14 

days after we have sent you the Confirmation invoice. If you

Do I need travel insurance?

required by the policy wording) medical condition or problem 

you or any member of your party or other person as detailed 

in the policy (such as a close relative or business partner) has or 

has had (for example diabetes, heart problems or high blood 

pressure). If you fail to do so, your insurers may refuse to cover 

you at all even if you need to claim for some other reason. 

Customers with special needs 

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 states:

withdrawn due to lack of demand, weather conditions essential

Ship’s cabins are really hotel rooms in miniature, providing 

more or less the same facilities with one main difference 

– space! Ships have space limitations so therefore tend to utilise 

every inch efficiently.
