I started speaking three languages when I was three, so
it’s not diffi cult. I like football and once a week we have
football training in Gaelic. I’m now a news reporter on
the children’s radio programme Aileag. It’s great fun,
something new. I have to search the internet for news,
then put it in Gaelic words to read on the show. I usually
speak German to my mother, English to my father and
sometimes I help them with their Gaelic because they are
learning it. We have lots of German visitors and I speak
Gaelic when we visit my Dad’s relatives in Inverness. I
love reading books – in German, English and Gaelic. I’m
proud of my languages. If I have children, I would like
them to speak Gaelic, English and German.
