Suspect: 1. 17 yr. old male juvenile Chico resident<br />

2. Milliron, David Scott (3-20-92)<br />

3. Unknown white male juvenile, 14-16 yrs., tall & thin, last seen wearing black<br />

pants, black shirt, and black baseball cap.<br />

Narrative: On 6-<strong>21</strong>-12, at about 2344 hrs, Chico Police Officers responded to <strong>Safeway</strong>,<br />

located at <strong>720</strong> <strong>Mangrove</strong> <strong>Ave</strong>., on the report of a robbery which had just<br />

occurred. Officers arrived at scene within two minutes and learned that three<br />

male suspects had entered the store and loaded two handbaskets with assorted<br />

food items and alcohol. The suspects attempted to leave the store without paying<br />

for the merchandise. When confronted by a store employee, two of the suspects<br />

brandished weapons and made threats towards the employee. One of the weapons<br />

was described as a knife and the second was described as an unknown type<br />

handgun. Fearing for his/her safety, the employee did not pursue the theft any<br />

further. The three suspects then exited the store and fled southbound on foot.<br />

Officers spotted one of the suspects running through the complex at 555<br />

Vallombrosa <strong>Ave</strong>. and were able to capture him in the One Mile area of Bidwell<br />

Park after a brief foot pursuit. Officers detained a 17 yr. old juvenile who was<br />

positively identified by the <strong>Safeway</strong> employee as the suspect who brandished a<br />

firearm during the theft. The juvenile was arrested and transported to CPD for<br />

booking. After conducting a lengthy and thorough search of the One Mile park<br />

area, officers were able to locate and detain a second suspect, identified as David<br />

Milliron, who was positively identified by the <strong>Safeway</strong> employee as the suspect<br />

who brandished a knife during the theft. Milliron was arrested and transported to<br />

CPD for booking. During the search of the area, officers located some of the food<br />

items and alcohol stolen from <strong>Safeway</strong> by the suspects. Officers were unable to<br />

locate or determine the identity of the third male suspect. No firearm was located,<br />

however, both suspects did have large folding blade knives in their possession.<br />

The 17 yr. old juvenile was booked on charges of 459 PC – burglary, <strong>21</strong>1 PC –<br />

armed robbery, and later transported to BC Juvenile Hall. Milliron was booked<br />

on charges of 459 PC – burglary, <strong>21</strong>1 PC – armed robbery, and transported to BC<br />

Jail where he is being held on $65,000 bail. Follow-up investigation is continuing<br />

in an attempt to identify the third suspect. Anyone with information regarding<br />
