3. Unknown white male juvenile, 14-16 yrs., tall & thin, last seen wearing black
pants, black shirt, and black baseball cap.
Narrative: On 6-21-12, at about 2344 hrs, Chico Police Officers responded to Safeway,
located at 720 Mangrove Ave., on the report of a robbery which had just
occurred. Officers arrived at scene within two minutes and learned that three
male suspects had entered the store and loaded two handbaskets with assorted
food items and alcohol. The suspects attempted to leave the store without paying
for the merchandise. When confronted by a store employee, two of the suspects
brandished weapons and made threats towards the employee. One of the weapons
was described as a knife and the second was described as an unknown type
handgun. Fearing for his/her safety, the employee did not pursue the theft any
further. The three suspects then exited the store and fled southbound on foot.
Officers spotted one of the suspects running through the complex at 555
Vallombrosa Ave. and were able to capture him in the One Mile area of Bidwell
Park after a brief foot pursuit. Officers detained a 17 yr. old juvenile who was
positively identified by the Safeway employee as the suspect who brandished a
firearm during the theft. The juvenile was arrested and transported to CPD for
booking. After conducting a lengthy and thorough search of the One Mile park
area, officers were able to locate and detain a second suspect, identified as David
Milliron, who was positively identified by the Safeway employee as the suspect
who brandished a knife during the theft. Milliron was arrested and transported to

CPD for booking. During the search of the area, officers located some of the food
items and alcohol stolen from Safeway by the suspects. Officers were unable to
locate or determine the identity of the third male suspect. No firearm was located,
however, both suspects did have large folding blade knives in their possession.
The 17 yr. old juvenile was booked on charges of 459 PC – burglary, 211 PC –
armed robbery, and later transported to BC Juvenile Hall. Milliron was booked
on charges of 459 PC – burglary, 211 PC – armed robbery, and transported to BC
Jail where he is being held on $65,000 bail. Follow-up investigation is continuing
in an attempt to identify the third suspect. Anyone with information regarding
