Cricket Academy<br />
Players need to be of a good club st<strong>and</strong>ard or county level <strong>and</strong> have a strong desire to<br />
improve.<br />
There will be up to ten hours of training, playing <strong>and</strong> practising per week. Coaching <strong>and</strong><br />
training sessions will take place in the new Cornwall Indoor Cricket Centre – a world class<br />
facility <strong>and</strong> the most modern in the UK with 5 lanes of nets, 5 new bowling machines,<br />
advanced video technology <strong>and</strong> a superb floor.<br />
There is a very strong fixture list <strong>and</strong> during the year players will also have the opportunity to<br />
train as umpires <strong>and</strong> coaches within the Engl<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> Wales Cricket Board structure. Annual<br />
trips to the ECB Academy at Loughborough, First Class Academies <strong>and</strong> overseas trips also<br />
take place.<br />
Players will also receive theory sessions on mental, technical <strong>and</strong> tactical sessions <strong>and</strong><br />
undergo some lifestyle management training.<br />
We are hoping to produce high quality players who will have the opportunity to maximise their<br />
talents. There are currently several players showing the potential to play first class cricket <strong>and</strong><br />
we have close links with Somerset, Gloucestershire <strong>and</strong> Nottinghamshire academies.<br />
