Design Staff TERRY GUNVORDAHL • Set Designer Terry has designed more than two hundred shows for theatres across Canada and in the United States. His designs have appeared in film, television, in museums and the occasional Stampede parade. This has been an exciting season with designs for Alberta Theatre Projects, (“The Penelopiad”); Vertigo Theatre, (“Twelve Angry Men” and “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”), Lunchbox (“Wanda’s Visit”) and Mount Royal University (“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”) and Sage Theatre (“The Blue Room” and “The Girl in a Goldfish Bowl”) and of course Stage West to design the lighting for “All Shook Up”. After a busy season last year Terry took time this summer to go white water canoeing, hiking, do some sculpting, and writing. He has just finished performing in “Courage”, a one man show about J. M. Barrie and looks forward to the next challenge. 14 - Stage West Calgary REBECCA TOON • Costume Designer Rebecca is very excited to be at Stage West!! IAN MARTENS • Lighting Designer “Chicago” marks Ian’s eighth design with Stage West, the previous seven being the sets for “Marvelous Wonderettes”, “One Hit Wonders” and “Married Alive” as well as lighting for “Don’t Hug Me”, “Tuesdays With Morrie”, “The <strong>Producer</strong>s” and “Midlife the Crisis Musical.” Select other credits include “Filth”, “The Attic”, “The Pearls and the Three Fine Girls”, “My Name is Rachel Corrie”, “Trainspotting”, and “Yardies” (Sage Theatre), “Trout Stanley” (Ground Zero), “Enoch Arden in the Hope Shelter and The Piper” (Downstage). Many thanks to the folks here at Stage West, who make every trip to the theatre a pleasure, and much love to the three ladies at home who make it easy to smile every day. DARYL BLINN • Set Builder Daryl has been a Calgarian since 1966. He took up carpentry in the early 70’s and has been building custom homes and renovations ever since. He started doing sets for Stage West about 10 years ago with his good friend Thomas Legg and has enjoyed building for Stage West immensely and working over the years with Robert and now Sean. Production Staff KIRA CAMPBELL • Production Manager/Artistic Associate Kira started at Stage West in 1991 and is excited to be part of the 2012/13 season at Stage West! This season marks her 21st anniversary with Stage West and “Chicago” is her 119th main-stage production as well as numerous Stage West for Kids shows, concerts, tours and special functions. A long-time Fosse fan, she couldn’t be more excited about doing “Chicago”! Many thanks to all of the production crew for their unending support and senses of humour! Special thanks to Gary, Mario, Bruce, Desi & Keefer, Horace, her family and to the Watsons “Just ‘Cause”. SEAN D. ELLIS • Technical Director Sean has been a part of the Stage West family since 1996 and spends much of his time as Technical Wizard and Fixer of broken things. Favourite goofy projects include building a fake piano, a 2-dimensional motorcycle, an elevator out of plumbing bits and finding ways to make things move smoothly. When not at work, Sean has many renovation projects on the go at home where he lives with his husband Shane and their pets.. LAUREL ONEIL • Stage Manager Laurel is excited to work on “Chicago” as her 38th production here at Stage West, 25th as Stage Manager. Some of her favorite credits include: “Buddy: The Buddy Holly story”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Forever Plaid” and “The Last Resort”. Laurel has also taught Stage Management at the University of Lethbridge. A special thanks to her Stage West family for helping her “find the phone”. Laurel would like to thank her family and friends for their unending love and support. DARCY FOGGO • Assistant Stage Manager After almost 20 years as a member of the Stage West Production Team, Darcy is thrilled to be working on “Chicago” his 101st production. (Can you believe it?!?!). Some favourite shows include “Joseph” (both times!), “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Forever Plaid”, “Smokey Joe’s Cafe”, “Oklahoma”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “I Love You You’re Perfect Now Change” and “Buddy Holly”. He would like to thank Gary, Mary-Anne, the entire Administration team, the Front of House, Kitchen & Box Office staff, and especially his “Backstage Family” for all the laughs and good times over the past years.
