Hall,70 of Springfield and formerly of Wilbraham passed away Sunday surrounded by his loving family at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, the son of the late Burton W. and Janet (Hines) Hall. He was a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School and attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y. Jeffrey retired as a Bond Underwriter for Aetna Casualty and Surety Company. He was an avid pool player and card player and an all-around Sports enthusiast. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a nephew Stephen A. Hawkins Jr. He is survived by his son Eric M. Hall of Boston, his daughter Gretchen E.(Hall) Caputo and her husband Lewis of Hampden, his sister Martha (Hall) Hawkins and her husband Stephen A. Hawkins Sr. of Kiawah, S.C., two grandchildren, Nico and Gia Caputo of Hampden and a niece Deborah Hawkins of Springfield. Private funeral arrangements are being handled by Sampson ‘s Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, Springfield. LaFlamme, 59, of Wilbraham passed away suddenly Jan. 10, 2013 at his home. Donald son of the late Paul and Dorothy ( Racicot) LaFlamme was born in Springfield on July 4, 1953. Raised in Springfield he graduated from the High School of Commerce. Don was employed by the United States Postal Service Bulk Mail Center in Springfield for the past 15 years. Don was a proud United States Army and National Guard Veteran with an honorable discharge and was a member of the Springfield American Legion Post 420 of Springfield. Donald was an Elder at the Feeding Hills Calvary Assembly of God Church. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by a brother Michael LaFlamme. He is survived by his wife Young Ye Yi of Wilbraham; his stepsons, Kevin and Kris of Georgia. Eleanor Miller WILBRAHAM - Eleanor (Harrington) Miller, 88, passed away peacefully Jan. 3, 2013, at home. Born in Malden to the late Russell and Eleanor (Soper) Harrington, she was a lifelong Wilbraham resident. She was the former vice president of the A. G. Miller Co., Inc. and an active member of Grace Union Church in Wilbraham and Eastern Star. An avid golfer, she was a member and former treasurer of the Coconut Point Club and the Anchor Line Yacht Club in Stuart, Fla. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband Frederick W. Miller in 1990. She is survived by her son Frederick “Rick” Miller and his wife Tina of Wilbraham, her daughter Dorothy M. Sherrick and her husband Michael of Norfolk, Mass., two sisters; Evelyn Riddle of Belchertown and Edith Gaudreau of Chicopee, four cherished grandchildren; Jeffrey Sherrick, Allison Wagner and her husband John, Erik and Julie Miller. He had a distinguished career spanning 45 years and rose to the position of big kahuna and treasurer at Stone &Webster Engineering Inc. His career involved travel to such places as Brazil, Jamaica, Algeria, Oswego and Buffalo New York, Lexington, Kr. and concluded in Boston. Bert was a past commander of the American Legion Post 24 in Canton, Mass. He loved playing golf, up to 36 holes a day, working in his yard and around the house, driving his BMW, and his 1973 Custom Corvette Stingray. He also enjoyed his dry martinis in the late afternoon, dining out and debating current politics. Nowak PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Gary J. Nowak, 65, of Pinellas Park, Fla. died, Dec. 31, 2012, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Joseph and Sophie Nowak, and was the former owner of the End Zone in Holyoke, before moving to Clearwater, Fla. where he had lived for over 30 years. He truly loved life, and right to the end, he lived life his way. He is also survived by his “Troops” Toddy Floyd and Phyllis Sinski, who were very special friends to him during his illness. It was Gary’s wish that all arrangements are private. Mary Jane a daughter of the late William H. and Sarah (Phillips) Burns was born in Electra, Texas on July 17, 1925. She graduated from Electra High School. She received her bachelor’s degree and her master’s degree in music from North Texas State University Denton, Texas. Jane was a music teacher at several public schools and taught for more than 35 years. She taught for the City of Springfield at Classical Junior High School, in Longmeadow at Blueberry Hill and Converse Schools, and for the town of Wilbraham where she taught for 30 years at Memorial, Stony Hill, Soule Road, Pines and Wilbraham Middle schools and retired in 1994. She has resided in Wilbraham for the past 48 years and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and sang in the church’s choir. She was a member of the Massachusetts and National Music Educators, the Tuesday Morning Music Club, World Affairs Council and the Springfield Turnverin. She sang with the Post Road Orchestra in Wilbraham, the Springfield Symphony Chorus, and the Madrigal Singers of Wilbraham. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Alton Willms and two sons, William “Bill” A. Willms and John David Stracnacer. She is survived by a son, James M. Willms of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Marianne Duquette and her husband Roger of Wilbraham; a sister, Bobbie Nell Hale of Cooksville, Texas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral home service for Jane will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Rites of Committal and Interment in Glendale Cemetery are at the convenience of the family.
