Depending on the respective width of DAUERHOLZ decking, the
installation join should be selected as follows:
90 mm 5 mm 6 mm
115 mm 5 mm 6 mm
130 mm 6 mm 7 mm
140 mm 7 mm 8 mm
145 mm 7 mm 8 mm
The spacing between joins where decking meets should be at
least 3 mm.
Please note that many securing systems specify spacing between
joins which is too tight and therefore not suitable for securing
DAUERHOLZ. We recommend the DAUERFIX installation system
for concealed securing. This system has been especially co-ordinated
for working with DAUERHOLZ decking. DAUERFIX is exclusively
aligned towards decking which is min. 25 mm thick.
As a general rule, the following applies: wax impregnation ensures
durability of the wood. You can however change the colour
of DAUERHOLZ after installation, whereby you can choose between
eight different DAUERSCHÖN + colours. In order to retain
your chosen colour over several years, you should treat the wood
before and after the season using DAUERSCHÖN + oil. Please use
our DAUERFRISCH brightener to refresh grey DAUERHOLZ. Please
only use DAUERHOLZ products for maintenance. They have been
specially developed for waxed wood. If you wish to clean the patio,
please do not use a high-pressure cleaner – the soft spray of a
water hose is sufficient.
Soiling of the wood by metal and stonework (angle grinding, drilling,
polishing) can cause discoloration when combined with water
(reaction between iron and tanning agents). This reaction is visible
in the form of dark spots on the wood (not only on DAUERHOLZ).
Abrasion caused by angle grinding discs can also affect the wood
(e.g. passed on through work clothing) where it can cause colour
reactions. Ideally, woodwork is performed after all other tasks have
been completed. If this is not possible, the patio should be covered
over. Please exercise care when handling lawn fertiliser which can
also contain iron oxides while garden furniture and accessories
made of iron can also cause stains.
