4.1.4 Configure Menu<br />

The Configure menu lets you customize <strong>the</strong> GAUSS environment.<br />

Preferences Opens <strong>the</strong> General Preferences window. From <strong>the</strong> General Preferences<br />

window you can define Run options, Compile options, DOS window<br />

options, and Autosave options. For more information on configuring<br />

GAUSS General Preferences, see Preferences Dialog Box, Section 5.6.1.<br />

Editor Opens <strong>the</strong> Editor Properties window. From <strong>the</strong> Editor Properties window<br />

Properties you can define colors and fonts, <strong>the</strong> language syntax, tabs, or general editor<br />

properties. For more information on configuring editor properties, see<br />

Editor Properties, Section 5.6.2.<br />

4.1.5 Run Menu<br />

The Run menu lets you run <strong>the</strong> code you have entered, a block of code you selected, or <strong>the</strong> active<br />

file, depending on <strong>the</strong> operating mode.<br />

Insert GAUSS Manually adds <strong>the</strong> GAUSS prompt (>>) at <strong>the</strong> cursor position. The GAUSS<br />

Prompt prompt is automatically displayed following <strong>the</strong> execution of GAUSS code.<br />

Insert Last Cmd Re-enters <strong>the</strong> last command written to <strong>the</strong> Input buffer.<br />

Run Selected Runs any text selected from <strong>the</strong> editor or <strong>the</strong> Command Input-Output<br />

Text window.<br />

Run Active File Runs <strong>the</strong> active file. The file <strong>the</strong>n becomes <strong>the</strong> main file.<br />

Test Compile Compiles <strong>the</strong> currently selected file. During compilation, any errors are<br />

Active File displayed in <strong>the</strong> Output window.<br />

Note: This command is different than <strong>the</strong> GAUSS compile command, which<br />

compiles a program and saves <strong>the</strong> pseudocode as a file.<br />

Run Main File Runs <strong>the</strong> file specified in <strong>the</strong> Main File list.<br />

Test Compile Test compiles <strong>the</strong> main file. During compilation, any errors are displayed in<br />
