The spectrum of the Lloyd Werft covers
container ships, bulk carriers, research
vessels, Ro-Ro ferries, fishing
boats, tugs, destroyers and frigattes as well
as reefer ships, drilling vessels, cruise
liners, tankers and survey ships. Long experience
gained over generations has made
the Lloyd Werft a repair and conversion yard
of world renown and is internationally recognised
as a specialist for “difficult cases”.
The interest in a challenge together with the
changing demands of modern shipping as

well as a tradition dating back to the middle
of the 19th century has made a wide palette
of activities necessary. For over 100 years
the shipyard, which covers an area of
260.000 sqm, has been at home in the
“Übersee”-harbour of Bremerhaven. This
domicile is currently being brought in line to
meet the challenges of the marketplace by
substantial reconstruction and new building
works.
