to the first two. with the Crusaders
leading from start to finish in
a 7-2 victory. Madonna outhit St.
Francis 10-3 (the total for the first
three games was 39-10). with Birchrneier
a*ain getting three hits
and driving home two runs Comment
and Pinter had two hits
each.
Streng was the winning pitcher,
going the first five innings and
surrendering one earned run on
three hits and no walks, fanning
tossed two perfect innings.
The second game Sunday was
the only close one of the weekend,
but Madonna still prevailed. 5-4.
The Crusaders' 10-hit attack was
led by Courtney Senger with
three, and Birchrneier and
Riopelle with two each. Senger
had two RBI
Weichel was the winner, going
all seven innings and allowing
four runs lone earnedi on nine
hits, with no walks and four
strikeouts
"1 thought we played our best
softball of the season." said Madonna
coach Jerry Abraham, his
team improving its record to 18-
