My Masters Degree in ‘Innovation sciences’ looks at the impact of technology on<br />
society from different perspectives: social, economic <strong>an</strong>d political. this aligns well<br />
<strong>with</strong> the <strong>bocma</strong>’s m<strong>an</strong>date to m<strong>an</strong>age water resources <strong>with</strong>in a social, economic <strong>an</strong>d<br />
ecological context. the <strong>bocma</strong> engages <strong>with</strong> the stakeholders in these sectors, <strong>an</strong>d<br />
the different interests that have to be taken into account raise the complexity of this<br />
task. my research attempts to underst<strong>an</strong>d the stakeholder dynamics by <strong>an</strong>alysing the<br />
different interests, powers, relations <strong>an</strong>d contexts of water resource m<strong>an</strong>agement.<br />
after this <strong>an</strong>alysis, recommendations c<strong>an</strong> then be derived for the <strong>bocma</strong> on how<br />
to make use of the stakeholder dynamics as a way to deal more efficiently <strong>with</strong><br />
integrated water resource m<strong>an</strong>agement.<br />
It has been very interesting to learn more about water resource m<strong>an</strong>agement from<br />
a catchment m<strong>an</strong>agement perspective, <strong>an</strong>d especially exciting to do research in a<br />
country on the other side of the world <strong>an</strong>d to work <strong>with</strong> people from a different culture.<br />
