Anton sterf
ANTON Nortje (49), is 6 November aan ‘n
hartaanval oorlede.
Hy was vir die afgelope 20 jaar by Phalaborwa,
Telkom telefoon diens, dak gevaarlik
Piet Delport
veroorsaak of selfs noodlottige gevolge veroorsaak.
Verbruikers wat van die diens gebruik maak,
vertrou Telkom sal so spoedig moonlik aandag
aan die probleem verleen.

Die begrippe lewensafrigting, berading en
psigoterapie skep dikwels heelwat verwarring,
veral omdat daar grys gebiede is waar oorvleueling
kan plaasvind.
Lewensafrigting geskied gewoonlik as deel
van ‘n lewensvaardigheidsprogram vir individue
asook in groepsverband en behels temas
soos konflikhantering, woedehantering, sportmotivering,
ens. Dit het hoofsaaklik selfontwikkeling
en persoonlike groei ten doel en
is wêreldwyd baie gewild.
Berading hou verband met die begrippe
adviseer en voorlig.
Dit het ‘n redelike populere term geword
wanneer mense oor persoonlike hulpverlening
deur vakkundiges praat. Die Gesondheidsberoepe
Raad het ‘n registrasie kategorie
geskep wat bepaalde opleiding vereis, naamlik
â??n B.Psig of B.A. Hons. graad met addisionele
modules. Hiervolgens kan beperkte
sielkundige evaluasie en intervensies toegepas
word. Die beroepskategorie staan bekend as ’n
Registered Counsellor. Daar is ander beroepe
wat ook van berading gebruik maak. Indien
van hulle dienste gebruik gemaak word, stel
vas wat die hulpverlener se kwalifikasies en
beroepsassosiasie is.
Fanie Breytenbach is verkies as Voorsitter.
Lewensafrigting,
berading en
psigoterapie
van gedrag, houdings en emosies sodat ‘n
individu tot optimale interaksie met sy omgewing
kan kom. Die gedragsproblematiek wat
hanteer moet word, spruit gewoonlik uit negatiewe
ervarings, dikwels uit die ver verlede,
met dieperliggende emosionele en denkwyse
gevolge. Dit is van so ‘n aard dat dit die
persoonlike, gesins- en selfs beroeps- funksionering
van die betrokkene ontwrig.
Persone wat as sielkundiges by die Gesondheidsberoepe
Raad geregistreer is, voldoen
wetlik aan die vereistes om psigoterapie en
psigometrie individueel of in egpaar-, gesinsen
groepsverband toe te pas binne sy/haar
bepaalde registrasiekategorie, naamlik:
klinies, voorligitng, opvoedkundig of bedryfs.
Wanneer iemand gedragsprobleme ervaar
en professionele hulp benodig, maak seker dat
die hulpverlener oor die geskikte en vereiste
kwalifikasies beskik en stel vas by watter
beroepsraad die hulpverlener geregistreer is.
Beroepsrade het opleidings- vereistes en etiese
kodes waaraan voldoen moet word om diensleweringstandaarde
daar te stel en te handhaaf.
Die publiek word sodoende beskerm
teen persone wat mag voorgee dat hulle
sielkundige hulpverleners of terapeute is en
PAGE 6 PHALABORWA HERALD - Friday 28 November 2008 PROMOTION

GENERAL
Donate a toy,
bring joy
THIS Christmas you can bring some festive
cheer to some of the many less fortunate
children in South Africa by donating toys to
the annual Shoprite Checkers Toy 4 Toy campaign.
While most of us will be enjoying the
cheerful festive spirit of the season and buying
abundant gifts for our loved ones, many
children in South Africa face a far bleaker
Christmas.
Shoprite Checkers has therefore once again
teamed up with the South African Red Cross
Society and the Sunday Times for the "Toy 4
Toy" campaign that urges consumers to donate
new or used toys to less privileged children
during the festive season.
For every toy that consumers donate during
this festive season, Shoprite Checkers will
match it with a brand new toy.
Through the 2007 Toy 4 Toy campaign
Shoprite Checkers was able to hande over
more than 24 00 toys to the South African Red
Cross Society to distribute amongst needy
children across the country.
From Friday, November 14 until Monday,
December 15 all South African citizens can
make a contribution by buying or bringing
toys and placing them in the Golden Trolleys
in front of all Shoprite, Checkers, and Checkers
Hyper stores countrywide.
Customers who donate new toys also stand
a chance of winning one of ten Shoprite or
Checkers shopping vouchers to the value of
R5 000 each.
To qualify for the lucky draw, which will
take place on December 19, customers must
attach their till slip to the Toy 4 Toy entry form
and place it in the Toy 4 Toy entry box in the
store.
Let's spread some Christmas cheer this
festive season and bring a smile to the faces of
needy children by assisting Ted and Rob, our
official Toy 4 Toy campaign mascots, with the
collection of more toys than ever this year.
PHALABORWA HERALD - Vrydag 28 November 2008
SPCA responds
to report
The SPCA will take in all animals, whether
healthy, sick or injured.
We are a welfare organisation not a veterinary
service so when sick or injured animals
are brought to us, they are taken to a local
veterinarian. When an animal in this situation
has identification, we can contact the owner
and the issue of payment for veterinary treatment
is clear. It is for the owner`s account.
With strays, we ask that the veterinarian
stabilizes the animal, thereby assisting the
animal yet limiting costs. The local SPCA does
not have the finances to pay for elaborate or
prolonged treatment for strays who may never
be claimed.
Appreciation is expressed to veterinarians
who do not charge the SPCA for such services.
The SPCA appeals to all concerned, including
members of the public, not to become
embroiled in a war of words or ongoing
communications. The moral of the story is that
these incidents would not happen at all if
animals were identified. We appeal to everyone
to make a positive move and ensure that
your pet has microchip or even “collar and
tag” identification. Pointing fingers serves no
purpose but what a difference we could all
make if we each took one easy step.
Buy presents that last
NOTHING beats the feeling when you seen
the look in your children's eyes on the
morning of December 25.
But let's face it, there is no guarantee that,
come December 26, those expensive gifts
haven't already joined their fellow playthings
in the toy graveyard with Jane or Jack's
attention already focused on something new.
How do you know your well-earned money
will buy something that will occupy your
child's mind for at least a couple of months?
The American Film Institute has released a list
of the 10 most popular animations of all
time.
Try buying one of these for Christmas - at
least you know your child will love it.
1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
2. Pinocchio
3. Bambi
4. The Lion King
5. Fantasia
6. Toy Story
7. Beauty and the Beast
8. Shrek
9. Cinderella
eet vandaan?
Met Kersfees vier ons die geboorte van
Christus. Eeue gelede was die dag nooit gevier
of herdenk nie.
In die jaar 354 AD het ´n man genaamd
Philocaluas ´n Christelike martelogie geskryf
wat die geboorte van Jesus plaas op 25
Desember.
n d e r.
In 1734 toe daar oorgeskakel is na die
Gregorian-kalender is daar finaal besluit op
die 25ste Desember. Daar word beweer dat
Pous Julius I die 25ste Desember gekies het as
Hierdie man was ´n Roomse Biskop in die
4de eeu in Asië. Soos die storie gaan het Saint
Nicholas eendag anoniem ´n sak goud deur ´n
As
erkenning van sy goedhartigheid het die
mense begin om geskenke deur skoorstene te
gooi.
In 1841 was Kersfees iets besonders in
Engeland.
spyskaart wees.
By baie is dit tonge, soutvleis en ham,
gebraaide boude en kalkoen wat voorkeur
k r y.
peusel goed.
Die middag is nie
volmaak sonder die
Kersfees koek wat al
in Oktober bestel is
nie.
Geniet die feesseisoen.
En onthou,
mens eet nie om te
leef nie, ons leef om
te eet !!
PAGE 8 PHALABORWA HERALD - Friday 28 November 2008 GUIDE

GENERAL
Hou die kinders so
besig dié vakansie
KINDERS is gewoonlik baie opgewonde
en bedrywig oor die Kersseisoen.
Hier is ‘n paar Kers speletjies
om hulle besig te hou:
Spinne Web:
soek.
Musikale Stoele:
Ek glo almal ken hierdie een maar
meeste van ons dink nie altyd daaraan
nie. Sit ‘n paar stoele in ‘n kringetjie
redelik uitmekaar as jou spasie dit
toelaat. 1 stoel minder as die hoeveelheid
mense wat deelneem.
As die musiek begin speel moet
So
As jy
jou ‘n kaartjie probeer terugwen.
Die “regse familie”:
Almal neem ‘n geskenkie saam met
hulle na die partytjie. By die party
neem almal hulle geskenkies en staan
in ‘n kring.
Christmas was almost here and
Mother RIGHT was finishing
the Christmas baking. Father
RIGHT, Susie RIGHT, and
Billy RIGHT returned from their last
minute Christmas errands.
"There's not much LEFT to be
done," said Father RIGHT
as he came into the kitchen.
"Did you leave the basket of food at
C h u rc h ? "
asked Mother RIGHT?
"I LEFT it RIGHT where you told me
to." said Billy RIGHT.
"I don't have any money LEFT."
PHALABORWA HERALD - Vrydag 28 November 2008
The hall telephone rang, and Susie
RIGHT LEFT to answer it.
She rushed back and told the family,
"Aunt Tillie
RIGHT LEFT a package for us RIGHT
on Grandma RIGHT's
porch. I'll go over there RIGHT now
and get it," she
said as she LEFT in a rush.
Father RIGHT LEFT the kitchen and
brought in the
Christmas Tree.
By the time Susie RIGHT returned,
Mother RIGHT, Father
RIGHT, and Billy RIGHT had begun
trimming the tree.
The entire RIGHT family sang carols
as they finished
the decorating.
Then they LEFT all the presents
arranged under the tree
and went to bed, hoping they had
selected the RIGHT gifts
for their family.
Now I hope you have the RIGHT
present for yourself,
because that's all that's LEFT of our
story, except
to wish you a Merry Christmas, isn't
that RIGHT?
Nog ‘n storie wat gebruik kan
word:
Mr. WRIGHT was to take Mrs.
WRIGHT RIGHT to the store
to do some of her holiday shopping.
As he LEFT in the
car, he turned RIGHT out of the
driveway. He had to
go RIGHT back as he LEFT without
Mrs. WRIGHT.
They both got in the car on the LEFT
side as the
RIGHT side door would not open.
Mr. and Mrs. WRIGHT
again LEFT for the store, turning
RIGHT out of the
driveway. An argument occurred
about the RIGHT turn
as Mrs. WRIGHT said that Mr.
WRIGHT should have
turned LEFT. Mr. WRIGHT kept insisting
that he was
PAGE 9
RIGHT, but Mrs. WRIGHT kept insisting
that the nicer
department store was on the LEFT.
Two blocks away after another LEFT
turn they
discovered they had LEFT the credit
cards at home.
So, they made a LEFT turn, then a
RIGHT to go back
home to where they had LEFT the
credit cards. As they
turned RIGHT on to their street and
LEFT into the
driveway, Mrs. WRIGHT said "Let's
just stay RIGHT here!
Goeie daad Bottel:
Sny 24 kaartjies en skryf op elkeen ‘n
goeie daad neer.
houer is.

Hier
is ‘n paar wenke.
Toedraai idees: 1) Gebruik gewone bruin
papier
2) Maak stempels van aartapples of koop by
“craft winkels”
helder kleure 3) Vorms – enige snaakse vorms
om op te sit 4) Godsdienstig – engletjies en
Maria ens 5) Cultural – tradisioneel volgens
kulture 6) Nature – meer uit die natuur –
natuurilik
styf.
Speletjie vir presentjies
Gooi almal wat hierdie kersfees by julle
gaan bymekaar kom, se name in 'n hoed. Laat
gemaak is !
Algemene “laat jou dink” wenke
sê: 'Jy's vir my spesiaal'. Wat wil sy/hy hê?
Wat pas by hom/ haar?
goed wees? Vermy oorbesteding en
oordadigheid.
Liefde vier.
Geskenkpapier
Vir 'n interessante geskenkpapier rasper
gekleurde stukkies waskryt en sprinkel dit oor
wit of bruin papier.Bedek
met nog 'n
stuk van dieselfde
papier en plaas alles
tussen twee velle koerantpapier.
Stryk dit
met 'n warm strykyster.
Die was smelt en
Ideas for
teenagers
IS there anything more difficult than buying a
Knowing what music or videogames they
changing trends and the mystifying variety of
Buying a teen something to read might also
GENERAL
USE this festive season to spoil your little ones
with cheap Christmas treats.
Follow these easy recipes:
Christmas Tree Dessert
Fill a pointed paper cup with green jelly. Cut
away the cup after the jelly has set and place
it on a plate with the tip pointing up. Spray
your "tree" with whipped cream to give it a
snowy look.
Snack Tree
Take the same pointed paper cups and
colour them green. Put single cherry tomatoes,
cheese cubes, carrot slices and the
like on the tips of toothpicks. "Decorate" your
new Christmas tree and enjoy as a healthy
snack.
Use cooled cupcakes (baked from any recipe),
white icing, large white marshmallows,
pretzel sticks and food colourants. Frost your
cupcakes with white icing. Stick a pretzel stick
in the centre of the cupcake. Stick a marshmallow
into the pretzel. Cut another marshmallow
in half. Stick the two pieces to the
bottom marshmallow with another pretzel
stick. This will create his body, torso and head.
Mix icing sugar and colourants of your choice
to decorate your snowman with. Stick two
pretzel sticks into the sides of his torso to
create arms. Stick a little piece of pretzel in the
centre of his face to create a nose.

BANDESORG is nodig vir 'n veilige vakansie.
Verskeie bandevervaardigers het met die oog
bandesorg laat val.
komende
te
verseker
alles
verloop
goed wat
bande betref.
Die regte
bandkeuse en
gereelde instandhouding verminder nie net
onnodige uitgawes aan bande nie, maar kan
ook 'n belangrike rol speel in brandstofbesparing.
Motoriste behoort gereeld hul motors se
banddruk na te gaan om sodoende die
loopvlak- en omhulsellewe te verleng.
Phalaborwa ringbal van krag tot krag
Piet Delport
Phalaborwa Ringbal klub het verlede
Saterdag sy spelers vereer vir hul
besondere prestasies behaal die afgelope
seisoen. Pierre Marais voorsitter
van die klub het van die geleentheid
gebruik gemaak om al die spelers
geluk te wens met hul harde,
getroue en dissiplineerde spel.
Die klub het die afgelope jaar 40
Limpopo spelers opgelewer, wat `n
besondere prestasie vir Phalaborwa
is. Pierre Marais is vir die tweede jaar
as SA skeidsregter verkies. Celia
uitnodiging Skeidsregter verkies.
Drie SA keurders word gekies, senior
dames, Thys Marais, Meester
Dames, Tokkie Marais en Theo Rennison,
SA seuns 0/13. Izelke Marais
of as vanselfsprekend te aanvaar. Indien bande
Bande
wat oneweredig afloop, is 'n aanduiding van
meganiese probleme.
Bestuurstegniek speel ook'n belangrike rol
in die bewaring van bande. Bande hou nie lank
as 'n mens gereeld met rokende bande
wegtrek of stilhou nie brandstof ook nie. Deur
Safety tips while on the road
*BUCKLE-up and make sure all your passengers
do too. Younger children should be
seated in child-restraint devices.
*Maintain a safe following distance. Adjust
your speed to road conditions. Slow down
when it is raining or when the road is wet. *Also
reduce your speed when travelling in rural
areas where animals may cross the road at any
time.
*Use low beam headlights between sunset
and sunrise as well as in poor visibility. (Never
drive with your parking lights on.)
*Guard against fatigue. Make frequent rest
stops or, where possible, change drivers. *Carry
a blanket, fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.
*Start your holiday the moment you leave
home! Don't speed or drive irresponsibly to get
to your holiday destination - you might never
get there! *Always obey the rules of the road.
*Keep your car locked when unattended.
Don't leave valuables in your car where these
may create a temptation for passersby. Rather
lock these items in the boot.
*Never leave a child or pet in a parked car.
The temperature build-up in a car, which has
been parked in the sun, may cause heatstroke
that can be fatal.
FOSKOR’S annual Long Service Awards
ceremony took place at Foskor’s Community
centre in Namakgale last Thursday. It was a
stunning evening during which 139 employees
received Long Service Certificates, which
is an outstanding achievement by both
Foskor`s management and employees.
Human Resources Executive Sarah Luthuli
stated in her speech “It is a known fact that the
most important resource in any organisation is
its employees and without such, failure is
imminent. Foskor, as a whole, has undergone
many changes in the years of its existence,
which have affected its employees and persuaded
some to choose different careers. The
employees receiving certificates today are
therefore acknowledged and commended for
their hard work and contribution towards the
achievement of a more broadly representative,
results driven organisation."
Luthuli continued by stating that, this year,
Foskor is recognizing a total of many years of
combined service. Employment in an organisation
like Foskor is like embarking on a
journey. A journey is also likened to a voyage
of discovery with new landscapes only to be
seen with new eyes.
Journeys have got a start and a finish, some
are very short and some very long. They all
differ in measurements as they cover a period
of time such as those that we are witnessing
t o d a y.
"Biblically, in the book of Timothy the end of a
journey is also described and celebrated.
Those who have come to the finish line are
given crowns; today we are carrying on with
the practice and tradition at Foskor by
recognizing all of you who have come to an
end of your Foskor journey.
PHALABORWA HERALD - Vrydag 28 November 2008
"As I have come to know the people who
work at Foskor, I have developed a keen
understanding of how and why you have
managed to accomplish so much. It happens
because of your commitment to service excellence,
teamwork, integrity, respect and innovation
that defines and drives our industry.
"It
happensbecause
of the
deep
personal
pride
Foskorites
take in
their work across the length and breadth of the
organisation, in every division, at every level,
just as it has happened for the past years.
"Over the years, all of you have experienced
changes, be they physical, some were slimmer/smaller
in their 20`s and today they are
shaped differently like a pear, (age) some
entered the organisation at 18 or maybe 20
years and today are 60 years old or approaching
60 years and have even lost teeth,
you changed departments and jobs, or had
your departments and jobs change around
you, as structures and mandates evolved to
remain responsive to the changing needs of
our organisation.
"But through all of
this, you have continued
to provide us
with your hard work
and effort. Your time,
commitment, and work ethic have helped in
the building of this company.
"With your collective efforts we have created
an organisation with a reputation for
respect, resolve and determination. ‘
Sarah said "Foskor is deeply indebted to you
for these accomplishment. Ask yourselves
t o d a y,
what has
made
you to
cope and
endure
all these
losses
and gains
because I
am
deeply
convinced
that it is through God’s mercy and love
that we have been given in abundance in order
that we may serve Him through the talents
bestowed by Him to us and made Foskor
p r o s p e r. "
Chief Operating Officer Johan Horn, in his
word of thanks and acknowledgement said,
"Without sounding critical or cynical, it is
common experience particularly among our
young generation today to look for work and
join organisations, all for the wrong reasons,
such as instant promotions, big salaries and
exquisite fringe benefits, all expected within a
Begin jou vakansie
reg met padkos
PADKOS. Dit is ’n woord wat by
die meeste mense warm
gevoelens ontlok.
Vakansieherinnerings soos die
soet fles koffie, frikkadelletjies,
gekookte eiers, hoenderboudjies,
toebroodjies en beestong.
Deesdae is daar elke paar honderd
kilometer ’n vulstasie met ’n
geriefswinkel of restaurant waar
reisigers iets te ete en te drinke
kan kry.
Maak dié vakansie spesiaal en
pak jou eie padkos. En bespaar
sommer ook so op die reis
onkostes. Die meeste
langs-die-pad-vulstasies het
steeds ’n tuin of grasperk waar die
gesin kan ontspan.
Die ou sement tafels soos toentertyd
langs die pad bly ‘n goue
herinnering. Wie kan die getoet
van mede vakansie gangers wat
verby jou snel vergeet.
groot.
Terwyl pa by die vulstasie stop
om die petroltenk te vul, kan ma
en die kinders solank ’n tafeldoek
op die grasperk oopgooi en die
padkosmandjie uitpak.
Padkos-idees:
’n paar stukkies biltong
of droëwors, droëvrugte, ’n kasie
en ’n gesondheidstafie.
Maak vooraf leë plastiekbotteltjies
bymekaar en vries water of
vrugtesap daarin. Hou dit in ’n
koelsak en deel vir elkeen ’n
botteltjie uit by julle padkosstop.
Koop pitabroodjies en laat elke
gesinslid sy eie broodjie bou.
Berei bakkies voor met smere,
gerasperde kaas, gekapte
slaaiblare, koue vleis en olywe.
Tamaties raak maklik pap, en
moet daarom liewer op die
rusplek eers in skywe gesny
word.
Moenie die nagereg vergeet
nie. Pak vir elke lid van die gesin
’n bekertjie en lepel in en skep
saggekookte droëvrugte met vla
daarin.
Worsbroodjies, jafels en hamburgers
is pret. Bederf jou gesin
met padkosbroodjies wat jy
vooraf berei of op die plek bou.
Speel met jafelvulsels soos kerriegroente,
uie en kaas, maalvleis
of kaas en tamatie.
Sosaties is lekker eet op sy maklikste.
Koop vooraf ’n pak vrugte
wat in blokkies gesny is, hou dit
verseël en ryg dit vinnig op
stokkies terwyl die res van die
gesin gaan hande was voor ete.
Probeer kombinasies van
aarbeie, druiwe en pynappel. Dit
lyk mooi, smaak vorentoe en is
Best Grade 8 Learner, Kaya Mlambo (Frans du
SOME of Ba-Phalaborwa's top achievers from
grade 8 to 12 were awarded for their hard
work and commitment at an exuberant
prizegiving function at Lulekani town hall last
weekend.
The learners who received prizes are all
registered on the PROTEC, Technokidz and
Master Maths programmes run by Rio Tinto
Palabora Mining Company/Palabora
Foundation in association with various
sponsors.
The ceremony was the first to celebrate the
achievements of the Technokidz learners
(grade 8 to 9) whose programme started in
May this year.
Hundreds of learners, their families and
invited guests were present to congratulate the
brightest and best on their achievements in
maths, science, English and other subjects.
Certificates and vouchers or calculators were
awarded to the ten best learners in each
category, with the top learners receiving
trophies and R100 vouchers. The learners
were in an excited mood, full of whoops and
cheers for their fellow students.
Past recipients of the awards, now at
university or at work, gave short speeches to
encourage the learners. Bridget Makhura, a
former PROTEC student, announced to
applause that she had graduated and gone on
to achieve a Masters in Chemistry before
starting work for a synthetic diamond
company in Springs. She urged the current
PROTEC learners to use the programme as a
springboard to greater things.
A more recent PROTEC graduate, now
studying at the University of Cape Town, paid
tribute to Bridget, saying that it was
encouraging to see a woman of her age in such
a place. Other former students urged the
Learners awarded
Palabora Foundation and the sponsors to
"carry on with the great job you're doing" and
urged the youngsters to take full advantage of
the opportunities being offered to them. All of
them agreed that they wouldn't be where they
are now without the assistance and support of
PROTEC.
The keynote speech was delivered by Danie
du Toit of Rio Tinto Palabora Mining
Company, who was pleased to see so many
people at the event to show their support. He
began by saying that the mine can sleep easy
knowing that their funding is being
well-used.
He illustrated the success of the PROTEC
programme by quoting the university
exemption figures: while national exemption
ran at 15% in 2006, and Phalaborwa District
managed 18%, the PROTEC exemption figure
for that year was 84% - showing that PROTEC
really does make a "big, big difference".
Mr du Toit added that the mine is focusing on
recruiting from the local population because
the employees are more likely to stay with the
mine than in-comers from othert areas.
"Your parents work for u," he said. "We've got
space for you, too!" While in recent years the
concentration was on increasing the number
of engineers, he urged the learners to consider
other avenues such as commerce and
accountancy, which are also in great
demand.
He also thanked the other sponsor of PROTEC
for their continued support.
The prizegiving was interspersed with tributes
from grateful PROTEC students, including
choral verse, a song, a drama, and an
especially for Marc Demmer, the
outgoing director of Palabora
Foundation. Performed by Jessica
Luphondo, winner of the Best
others, the poem was a moving
tribute to Mr Demmer's many
years of dedication to the
Foundation's work, particularly
in the field of education.
Mr Demmer responded with a
farewell speech, in which he
thanked the Foundation's staff for
their hard work and the
community for their support and
asked them to offer the same to
acting director Malesela Letsoalo.
Kinderfonds Gholfdag
verloop suksesvol
Piet Delport
verversings by halfweghuis en versnapperings
tydens die prysuitdelings. Beste presteerders
het met waardevolle pryse weggestap.
Die Beeld-Kinderfonds bestaan reeds 28 jaar
en is `n welsynsorganisasie sonder winsbejag
wat simpatiek staan teenoor die behoeftes van
sorgbehoewende kinders. Ongeveer 10 000
Blou Bulle in Maart
aanstaande jaar een van hul
amptelike bepalings in die
Vodacom-kompetisie op
Tzaneen gaan speel.
Tweedens is dit ook bevestig
dat die Blue Bulls en die
Cheetahs op 30 Januarie in ‘n
opwarmingswedstryd vir die
Super 14 in Polokwane teen
mekaar te staan gaan kom.
Derdens is dit bykans 100%
seker dat die uiters gewilde
plaaslike
Driedruk-kompetisie, wat deur
die HERALD-groep en
Simpsons Motors geborg
word, weer vroeg aanstaande
seisoen gespeel gaan word.
Diè nuus is vandeesweek deur
Dippies de Beer,
Vise-President van die Blou
Bulle Rugby-unie en ook
voorsitter en afrigter van
Letaba Rugbyklub, bevestig.
De Beer kan nog nie die
amptelike datum en plek vir
die Vodacom-bepaling bekend
maak nie, maar dit sal in alle
waarskynlikheid op Merensky
se velde plaasvind en die
teenstander sal bevestig word
sodra die Vodacom bepalings
bekend gemaak word.
Die oorgrote meerderheid
inwoners van diè omgewing
ondersteun die Blou Bulle en
daarom is dit wonderlike nuus
dat diè span in ’n amptelike
wedstryd op Tzaneen in aksie
gaan wees. Groot getalle
toeskouers word by diè
wedstryd verwag.
Selfs nog voor dit kan
ondersteuners van beide die
Blue Bulls en die Cheetahs
(waarvan hier ook baie in ons
omgewing is) slegs ‘n uur lank
reis om die twee spanne in
aksie te sien.
En dan die kersie op die koek.
Vir die afgelope tien jaar was
die Driedruk-kompetisie die
gewildste rugby-kompetisie
in Limpopo. Ongelukkig is dit
vanjaar nie gespeel nie omdat
van die klubs bang was vir
beserings vroeg in die
seisoen. Dit wil nou lyk asof
almal dit eens is dat die
Driedruk as voorbereiding
weer vroeg in die seisoen
gespeel moet word en alles
dui daarop dat dit laat
Februarie en Maart volgende
jaar afgehandel sal word.
Boonop wil dit lyk asof
Lugmagbasis Hoedspruit
(Bosveld) ook weer volgende
jaar ‘n span in die veld sal
stoot.
Inderdaad ‘n rits vroeë
kersgeskenke vir al die
rugby-ondersteuners in die
omgewing. Hou die LETABA
HERALD dop vir
verwikkelings in die
verband.
