Statement on BB&C Internet Services<br />

In our ongoing efforts to keep in touch with members’ skills <strong>and</strong> interests, your Executive is exploring<br />

options for new Internet-based member services. We have posted a Request For Quotes at http://www.bbc.org/<br />

rfq.html. Members <strong>and</strong> others with Web hosting or similar businesses are encouraged to submit bids on providing<br />

Internet services for the Club.<br />

Pre-Monthly Meeting Social<br />

All members of BB&C are invited to a pre-Monthly Meeting Social Event. Come for dinner, come for<br />

dessert or just come for coffee but do come <strong>and</strong> meet the other members of your club in an easy <strong>and</strong> friendly<br />

atmosphere. The time is from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The place is Rong's Restaurant on Gorge Road, across the<br />

street from the Legion, next door to Subway <strong>and</strong> Tim Horton's.<br />

Special Topic SIGs<br />

New this fall! Every 1st & 3rd Monday of the Month at the clubhouse, members will be<br />

hosting one-time sessions on special topics of interest to the average home or office computer<br />

user. Topics will include how to print a variety of things on your computer such as T-shirts,<br />

Christmas Cards <strong>and</strong> Business cards; how to find fun <strong>and</strong> interesting things on the internet<br />

such as music, video <strong>and</strong> shareware; software packages to make your computer truly useful<br />

<strong>and</strong> interesting. Generally any topic that is interesting <strong>and</strong> fun is welcome to this SIG. If you<br />

have some experience on some aspect of your computer experience that you could share with<br />

others, please let us know. It’s also a great way to meet your fellow members.<br />

Newbies Open House — Reopens Sunday September 10<br />

The popular Newbies Open House hosted by Art LeBel<br />

will reopen for the fall on September 10 <strong>and</strong> subsequent<br />

Sundays, 1 to 4 pm. These informal sessions are open to anyone, not just<br />

club members. Drop in, have a cup of our 25¢ coffee <strong>and</strong> talk computers.<br />

We'll even let you surf the Internet to see what it is all about. All free.<br />

More advanced computer users are welcome as well, we'll show you<br />

how to access our facilities <strong>and</strong> activities aimed at the more experienced<br />

users.<br />
