Data Sheet
WPS-01
Weatherproof Call Station, 1 Toggle
General Data WPS-01:
The WPS-01 consists of:
The mechanical components:
- Two-part housing made of glass fibre reinforced polyester in yellow
(RAL 1004)
- Toggle made of glass fibre reinforced grey polyamide
- Microphone box made of grey PVC for the dynamic sound capsule
(mounted in the cover)
- Cable connections made of grey polyamide
- Plastic plate in white with black writing
The electrical components:
- Dynamic sound converter (mounted in microphone box)
- 4 W/6 W loudspeaker (mounted in the cover)
- Motherboard with 4 W call station amplifier including 25 W booster
amplifier (mounted in housing base)
- Keypad circuit board (mounted in the cover)
Cover and housing base are connected electrically through a plug-in ribbon cable.
The WPS-01 is connected to the DVS-21 through the analogue LF interface
module 4NSA.
Voice transmission between the call station and the DVS-21 is analogue. Control
and data transmission is handled by a microcontroller. Transmission is carried out
with a modem connection.
Additionally, external 100 V loudspeakers (optional also 50 V or 70 V) up to a max.
of 25 Watt can be connected.
Data Sheet
WPS-01
Weatherproof Call Station, 1 Toggle
Description Level Crossing Intercom:
Because of varying distances between the individual components, and the
technical requirements resulting from this, the level crossing intercom is made in
two variations:
Variation 1: Operation on non-isolated lines
The call stations at level crossings are supplied centrally from the
DVS-21.
Variation 2: Operation on isolated lines
The call stations at level crossings are supplied locally with 48 V.
Schematic illustration of a level crossing intercom
The above illustration shows the configuration of an level crossing intercom with
two central exchanges connected through an E1 interface.
When only one DVS-21 is used then the 4FTR (with E1 attachment) is
unnecessary.
The distances possible between the individual components vary depending on the
sections:
Section 1: Distance between the DVS-21 systems.
With suitable 2 Mbit/s transmission technology any distances
are possible.
Section 2: Distance between control call station and the DVS-21 system.
Variation 1 (central supply):
For a sound pressure of 90 dB(A) with a 1 m interval for the level crossing call
station and a supply voltage of the central exchange of 48 V the following
distances between the level crossing call station and the central exchange are
possible:
The WPS-01 can optionally also be used as gate call station. The standard colour
is RAL 2004 (orange) and the text is customer-specific.
The same parameters apply for this as with the intercom cabinets.
This function can be realized with every other ProCom call station; optionally also
with door call stations from third-party suppliers.
