Hagg Farm Hagg Farm provides an opportunity for students in the Sixth Form to experience the great outdoors at an outdoor adventure centre situated near Hathersage in the Peak District. The weekend visit was a chance for Sixth Form students to get to know each other better, and have a go at lots of outdoor adventure activities. The weekend was a great success, with students throwing themselves wholeheartedly into activities such as river-walking, climbing, rock-hopping and orienteering. This visit was led by Mr. Lindley, with help from members of staff from four other faculties in the school.
Green Technology Project Seventeen members of the Manor Ecoteam have been working on a Green Technology project with CELS and Nottingham Trent University. The students, from years 7 to 10, were accompanied on a trip to the University by Miss Poultney and Mrs Corns to present their Project on recycling at The Manor School. The project was assessed by members of the British Institute of Science and subsequently all team members are eligible to achieve a CREST Bronze award for their efforts. “I'm a Scientist Get Me Out of Here” Students from Year 8 took part in an online event called "I'm a Scientist Get Me Out of Here" on the 14th - 24th March as part of their Science lessons. The event gave students the opportunity to ask any questions they wished of a group of forensic scientists over a two week period. Students then voted for the scientist whom they thought gave the best answers. The scientists all commented at the end of the discussion that there had been some excellent questions from the students during the chat.
