Forma
Esta estructura verbal se forma con el presente continuo del verbo to go + infinitivo
Afirmativa Interrogativa Negativa
I am going to sleep Am I going to sleep? I am not going to sleep
You/We/They are going Are you/We/They You/We/They are not

• Uso
1 Para expresar intenciones.
Ejemplo:
I’m going to get slimmer. Voy a adelgazar.
2 Para hablar de planes futuros.
Ejemplo:
They are going to open a pub in the centre. Van a abrir un pub en el centro.
3 Para hacer predicciones de futuro a través de hechos evidentes en el presente.
Ejemplo:
Hold tight. You’re going to fall down. Agárrate fuerte. Te vas a caer.
4 Para hablar de hechos que van a ocurrir con seguridad en el futuro.
Ejemplo:
I’m going to finish Bachillerato next year. Voy a cabar el Bachillerato el año que viene.
Future simple (Futuro simple): will
Forma
El futuro simple se forma con will + infinitivo para todas las personas:
Afirmativa
I/you/he/she/we/they will come back at ten.
Negativa
I/you/he/she/we/they will not (won´t) come back at ten.
Interrogativa
Will I/you/he/she/we/they come back at ten?
- Will puede contraerse como ll: I´ll ( I will) ; you´ll ( you will); he´ll ( he will )
- Existe también la forma shall para la 1ª persona del singular y del plural. La negación de
shall es shall not ( shan´t ).
Ejemplo:
I´ll be ( I will be) there at nine o´clock. Estaré allí a las nueve.
