DIAGNOSIS. — Dasymys shortridgei n. sp. is characterised<br />

as having a long tail <strong>and</strong> large head-body/tail<br />

ratio in addition to a large upper toothrow length <strong>and</strong><br />

internal diameter of the zygomatic arch. This species is<br />

most similar to D. foxi, D. griseifrons <strong>and</strong> D. robertsii n.<br />

sp. Dasymys shortridgei is most distinct from<br />

D. nudipes, D. montanus <strong>and</strong> D. longipilosus. St<strong>and</strong>ard<br />

measurements of the skull: GSL = 38.63, UTR = 7.11,<br />

REMARKS. — Dasymys shortridgei n. sp. is not similar to<br />

D. nudipes <strong>and</strong> should not be considered its subspecies.<br />
