liberation (bhukti-mukti-dätré). She gives gold (hiraëya-dä). As Durgä-devé, She wears a
garland of skulls (kapäla-mäliné). She is a goddess (devé). Her form is splendid and
glorious (dhäma-rüpiëé). She gives what has never been given before (apürva-dä).

guëätéta-phala-pradä
kuñmäëòa-bhüta-vetäla-
näçiné çaradänvitä
She is merciful (kåpänvitä), virtuous (guëä), and the most important (gauëyä). She gives a
result that is beyond the three modes of material nature (guëätéta-phala-pradä). She kills
the kuñmaëòas, bhütas, and vetälas (kuñmäëòa-bhüta-vetäla-näçiné). She is glorious like
autumn (çaradänvitä).

She is pleasingly cool (sétalä). She has a great variety of virtues (çavalä). She is happiness
(helä) and playfulness (lélä). She is beautiful and auspicious (lävaëya-maìgalä). She is an
earnest student (vidyärthiné). She is known by the devotees (vidyamänä). She is knowledge
personified (vidyä and vidyä-svarüpiëé).

She is the science of logic (änvékñiké), the Vedas personified (çästra-rüpä), the teacher of the
Vedas' final conclusion (çästra-siddhäëöa-käriëé, the beloved of Lord Çeña (nägendrä), the
mother of the snakes (näga-mätä) and playful and happy (kréòä-kautuka-rüpiëé).

(hara-präëä and çiva-präëä), and Lord Çiva's companion (çivänvitä).
