(i) cargoes that are homogeneous and are trimmed or self-trimming and<br />

which are not stowed;<br />

(ii) cargoes consisting solely of bagged produce;<br />

(iii) cargoes consisting solely of grain, when part is shipped in bulk and part<br />

in bags; or<br />

(iv) cargoes of homogeneous liquids in bulk.<br />

Container includes any device or receptacle in or on which cargo is<br />

carried including trailer, flat, pallet, tank or similar receptacle which is<br />

supplied by or on behalf of a Member for the carriage of cargo, and<br />

which is either designed to be, or expected to be, carried in an entered<br />

ship.<br />

Contribution includes Advance Calls, Supplementary Calls and any<br />

other calls or premiums which may be due from a Member.<br />

Convention Limit means, in respect of a ship, the limit of liability of<br />

the shipowner of that ship for claims (other than claims for loss of life or<br />

personal injury, at the Overspill Claim Date, calculated in accordance<br />

with Article 6 paragraph 1(b) of the International Convention on<br />

Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims 1976 (the ‘’Convention’’)<br />

and converted from Special Drawing Rights into United States Dollars at<br />

the rate of exchange conclusively certified by the Board as being the rate<br />

prevailing on the Overspill Claim Date, provided that,<br />

(i) where a ship is entered for a proportion (the ‘’relevant proportion’’)<br />

of its tonnage only, the Convention Limit shall be the relevant<br />

proportion of the limit of liability calculated and converted as aforesaid,<br />

and<br />

(ii) each ship shall be deemed to be a seagoing ship to which the<br />

Convention applies, notwithstanding any provision in the Convention to<br />

the contrary.<br />

Demise Charterer means a charterer who has sole possession of the<br />

ship and sole control of its management and crew.<br />

Effects includes clothes, documents, navigation and other technical<br />

instruments and tools, but does not include cash.<br />

Entered Ship means a ship which has been entered in the <strong>Club</strong> for any<br />

of the risks enumerated herein in the manner provided under these<br />

<strong>Rules</strong>.
