High-climbing tots rescued
Mark Williams, of 1312
Pleasure av., may only be three
yean x>ld, but be it apparently,
well on. his way toward a trade'
as a steeplejack.
• Williams father, Franklin
Williams, owns a real estate
firm at 1330 Bay av., and apparently
young Mark decided to
go exploring along Bay av.
while visiting his dad's office
Friday evening.
His explorations led him to a
TV antennae tower at 1308 Bay
av. where he decided that
rather than go around this
obstacle he might as well go
over it.
When he was about half way
up the 50-foot structure he was
discovered by his 12-year-old
sister, Betsy, who cried, "have
no fear mark, I am near" and
clamored up the* forbidding
obstacle to rescue her imperiled
sibling.
When the? Fire Department
ladder truck arrived, following
a frantic summons, they
discovered brave little Betsy
holding on to Mark at the 25-foot
mark of the tower, but not
knowing quite what to do in the
wav of Retting back down.
All ended well when the
brother-sister team was
brought safely back to the good
earth by one of Ocean City's
firefighters and were reunited
with their parents who were
reported to be considerably
more frightened than their
dynamic duo offspring.
