VINAVIL EVA 201
06WD004 - 04/13
APPLICATIONS
Adhesives used for bonding plastic foils to wood and fibre board. Adhesives used to bond plastic foils to
absorbent substrates for automatic packaging, bookbinding, automatic lamination of paper and board
with plastic and metal-foils.
SPECIFIC PROPERTIES
VINAVIL EVA 201 is a vinyl acetate - ethylene copolymer with a excellent adhesion to plastic materials.
This makes it suitable for adhesives used for bonding plastic foils to wood and fiber board. Adhesives
based an VINAVIL EVA 201 give good performances when used to bond plastic foil to paper or similar
adsorbing substrates.
VINAVIL EVA 201 shows a pseudoplastic rheological behaviour. This characteristic in addition to its
goods compatibility with fillers, coalescing agents, solvents and plasticizers, makes VINAVIL EVA 201
particularly suitable for the manufacture of adhesives with a proper rheology and viscosity. The addition
of coalescing agents and/or solvents and/or plasticizers leads to prompt, standing moderate increase in
viscosity.
COMPATIBILITY
VINAVIL EVA 201 shows an excellent compatibility with all the components usually employed in vinyl
acetate ethylene copolymer based aqueous adhesives such as:
- cellulose and acrylic thickeners
- plasticizers, such as benzoic acid esters and polymeric esters, triacetin, acetyl tributyl citrate, etc.
- tackifiers, such as natural and modified rosin, coumarone - indene, terpene and hydrocarbon resins.
- natural rubber latexes after adjusting VINAVIL EVA 201 to pH 9 with ammonium hydroxide.
VINAVIL EVA 201 is also compatible with most VINAVIL dispersions; however, it is advisable to check
P 1 - 2
VINAVIL EVA 201 is an aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate - ethylene copolymer with 55% solid content .
