VINAVIL 2253 M is a 52% polyvinylacetate aqueous dispersion used for making mono-component wood<br />
adhesives with high water resistance, D3 class.<br />
The special features of VINAVIL 2253 M include the following :<br />
a) water resistance as D3 class according to EN 204<br />
b) high bond strength and heat resistance according to WATT 91<br />
c) excellent creep resistance<br />
d) low discolouration of the glue line when hot pressing<br />

APPLICATIONS<br />
VINAVIL 2253 M is successfully used as a mono-component adhesive when water resistance, to EN<br />
204 D3 classification is required.<br />
Tests for the evaluation of this properties are carried out on specimens made as follows:<br />
Application of adhesive: both sides at the rate of approx. 150 gr/m²<br />
Pressing condition : 0.5÷1.0mm²<br />
Pressing time : 1-2 hours.<br />
The joints obtained by using VINAVIL 2253 M show an excellent resistance to static loads.<br />
VINAVIL 2253 M shows good setting time and a good heat resistance. VINAVIL 2253 M is particularly<br />
suitable when the discolouration of the glue line is too evident in the final manufacture (slight wood).<br />
The maintenance of the water resistance (class EN 204 D3) occurs only for modifications that dos not<br />
lead to an alteration of the pH values of VINAVIL 2253 M. It is possible for example, to add fillers, at the<br />
maximum amount of 10% whitout modify the D3 class.<br />
Fillers must not be alkaline: i.g. calcium sulphate bihydrate and not calcium carbonate.<br />
By adding di-isocyanate , VINAVIL 2253 M meets the requirements of durability class D4 according to<br />
EN 204.<br />
The resultant adhesive has a pot life variable between 8÷10 hours 2-3 days.<br />
This depends on the type of additive used.<br />

VINAVIL 2253 M is stable during 6 months, if stored at a temperature range between + 5÷+ 40°C.<br />
