7. Thread the fitting<br />
onto the pipe and<br />
tighten by hand.<br />
Using a strap<br />
wrench only, further<br />
tighten the<br />
connection an<br />
additional one to<br />
two threads past<br />
hand tightness. Avoid excessive torque as this may<br />
cause thread damage or fitting damage.<br />
Pressure Testing<br />
Threaded piping systems can be pressure tested up to 100% of<br />
their hydrostatic pressure rating as soon as the last connection<br />
is made.<br />
CAUTION: AIR OR COMPRESSED GAS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED<br />
AS MEDIA FOR PRESSURE TESTING OF PLASTIC PIPING<br />
SYSTEMS.<br />
