A User shall not:<br />
• Spill food or drink into the computer.<br />
• Use during class time or abuse at any time any form of online “chatting”<br />
(i.e. MSN) email or social networking (i.e. Facebook, tumblr). This includes<br />
but is not limited to: accessing online chatting during class; using online<br />
chatting for harassment of any kind at any time, or using online chatting for<br />
communication that breaks any existing SMLS rules or is not legal in any way.<br />
• Allow others to use the computer.<br />
• <strong>Download</strong> or install any unlicensed software, or obtain copyrighted digital<br />
media without permission of the copyright owner (this includes but is not<br />
limited to music (i.e. mp3 files, video i.e. QuickTime or images).<br />
• <strong>Download</strong> or install any licensed software without permission.<br />
• Engage in game-playing or other forms of entertainment during class<br />
without permission.<br />
• Attempt to connect any non-SMLS computer equipment (other than printers,<br />
digital cameras, memory sticks or other approved peripherals) to the System.<br />
• Attempt to alter, remove or tamper with files on the System or any other<br />
User’s computer.<br />
• Attempt to access portions of the System which the User knows that the<br />
User does not have permission to access.<br />
System Security<br />
It is the responsibility of each User to preserve the overall security of the System.<br />
Each User is responsible for her own account and must take reasonable precautions<br />
to ensure the privacy of that account. This includes maintaining proper and secure<br />
passwords. Users must notify a system administrator or staff member if they<br />
suspect a security issue regarding their account.<br />
Users should be aware that computer viruses, adware and malware might<br />
inadvertently be downloaded from the internet, file-sharing programs or the<br />
network. If a User has any concerns regarding the safety of a file, she should<br />
contact a system administrator before opening the file.<br />
SMLS has the right, but not the obligation, to inspect any computer or computer<br />
systems, and to monitor the use of the System. Users will not necessarily be<br />
notified when such monitoring is to take place, or whether monitoring has<br />
occurred. SMLS may cooperate with legal authorities and/or third parties in the<br />
investigation of any suspected or alleged crime or civil wrong. SMLS may also, on<br />
