On March 1, our traditional banquet was held to celebrate<br />

the academic achievements of the highest-ranking seniors<br />

at OHS and to recognize their most influential teachers.<br />

Wisconsin Mathematics<br />

League Contest<br />

Every 6 th , 7 th , and 8 th grade student at <strong>Oostburg</strong> Middle<br />

<strong>School</strong> recently participated in the Wisconsin Mathematics<br />

League Contest. The top five student scores from each<br />

grade were tabulated and entered into the contest.<br />

The 6 th grade students were Zac Dulmes, Riley Gilmore,<br />

Jon Leitzke, Alex Malueg, Justin Mentink, and Cole<br />

Nelson. Cole scored the highest in the 6 th grade. There were<br />

six names submitted because of a tie for fifth place.<br />

The 7 th grade students were Justin Dolfin, Michael<br />

Meke, Ryan Moehrke, Zach Riddiough, and Caitlin Smith.<br />

Michael scored the highest in the 7 th grade.<br />

The 8 th grade students were Erin Bartenstein, Blaine<br />

Herro, Joey Kretz, Bryan<br />

Lammers, Alyssa Schinner,<br />

Josh Smies, and Kyle<br />

Swart. Kyle scored the<br />

highest in the 8 th grade.<br />

There were seven names<br />

submitted because of a tie<br />

for fifth place.<br />

Golf Outing/Fundraiser<br />

The <strong>Oostburg</strong> <strong>Community</strong> Education Foundation<br />

is planning a golf outing/fundraiser for Saturday<br />

August 7, 2010. The golf outing will be a shotgun<br />

start of 18 holes of golf at Sheboygan Town &<br />

Country. Look for more details to follow.<br />

Plan now to attend this exciting event that will benefit<br />

<strong>Oostburg</strong> <strong>School</strong>s.<br />

Congratulations to Mr. Rick Hartman and Mr.<br />

Terry Hendrikse for their re-election to the <strong>Oostburg</strong><br />

The Big 10 Conference recently announced the 2010<br />

Winter Big Ten All-Academic Team. OHS grad A.J.<br />

Kissel, currently attending Purdue, was among this<br />

elite group. Way to go, A.J.<br />
