CARNATIC HALLS OF RESIDENCE<br />
Carnatic Halls are set in beautiful parkland<br />
about three miles away from the city centre in<br />
the Mossley Hill area <strong>of</strong> <strong>Liverpool</strong>, close to the<br />
<strong>University</strong>’s sports grounds at Wyncote. The<br />
area surrounding the Carnatic Halls has a<br />
growing nightlife and a great choice <strong>of</strong> shops,<br />
bars, cafés and a cinema.<br />
Each Hall <strong>of</strong> Residence has a Warden and a<br />
team <strong>of</strong> Residential Advisors who live in or near<br />
to the Halls. Their role is to provide support and<br />
advice to students and they play an active role<br />
in Hall life. Duty Residential Advisors are also<br />
available in the evenings and through the night<br />
at each Hall in case <strong>of</strong> emergency.<br />
On-site there are three laundrettes, two<br />
computer rooms, a library, music rooms, TV<br />
rooms, a cash machine, quiet rooms, secured<br />
bike stores and sporting facilities including two<br />
squash courts, tennis courts, snooker, pool<br />
and table tennis. There is also a cafeteria style<br />
restaurant and a fantastic bar. These facilities<br />
are shared by all six Halls - so there is plenty <strong>of</strong><br />
opportunity to meet your fellow students and<br />
make new friends.<br />
GREENBANK HALLS OF RESIDENCE<br />
Greenbank Halls are situated in parkland about<br />
three miles from the city centre in the grounds<br />
<strong>of</strong> Greenbank House, the former home <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Rathbone family. The area is close to Sefton<br />
Park and has a great choice <strong>of</strong> shops, bars,<br />
cafés and a cinema.<br />
Each Hall <strong>of</strong> Residence has a Warden and a<br />
team <strong>of</strong> Residential Advisors who live in or near<br />
to the Halls. Their role is to provide support and<br />

Derby and Rathbone Hall has a variety <strong>of</strong><br />
accommodation available to students and<br />
<strong>of</strong>fers catered and self-catered en-suite<br />
facilities. As the number <strong>of</strong> en-suite rooms is<br />
very limited they are usually allocated to students<br />
with an unconditional firm <strong>of</strong>fer. If you have a<br />
medical reason for needing an en-suite room<br />
please contact the Accommodation Office.<br />
The facilities on-site are a laundrette at each<br />
Hall, computer room, music room, TV room,<br />
quiet rooms, secured bike stores and sporting<br />
facilities including gym, tennis courts, snooker,<br />
pool and table tennis. There is also a newly<br />
refurbished cafeteria style restaurant and a bar.<br />
These facilities are shared by both Halls – so<br />
there is plenty <strong>of</strong> opportunity to socialise with<br />
your new friends.<br />
CAMPUS HALLS OF RESIDENCE<br />
The <strong>University</strong>'s main self-catering<br />
accommodation is situated either on or very<br />
close to the <strong>University</strong> campus. Flats for six<br />
to ten students, sharing bathroom and kitchen<br />
facilities, or self-contained flats for couples are<br />
available. Some en-suite accommodation<br />
is available although it is limited.<br />
Each self-catering residence has a manager<br />
who is responsible for the day-to-day<br />
supervision and management <strong>of</strong> the residence.<br />
At each residence there is also a team <strong>of</strong><br />
Residential Advisors who <strong>of</strong>fer out <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice<br />
hours support and advice.<br />

that <strong>Liverpool</strong> has to <strong>of</strong>fer; while<br />
at the same time it has <strong>of</strong>fered<br />

my time to the academic<br />
