CARNATIC HALLS OF RESIDENCE
Carnatic Halls are set in beautiful parkland
about three miles away from the city centre in
the Mossley Hill area of Liverpool, close to the
University’s sports grounds at Wyncote. The
area surrounding the Carnatic Halls has a
growing nightlife and a great choice of shops,
bars, cafés and a cinema.
Each Hall of Residence has a Warden and a
team of Residential Advisors who live in or near
to the Halls. Their role is to provide support and
advice to students and they play an active role
in Hall life. Duty Residential Advisors are also
available in the evenings and through the night
at each Hall in case of emergency.
On-site there are three laundrettes, two
computer rooms, a library, music rooms, TV
rooms, a cash machine, quiet rooms, secured
bike stores and sporting facilities including two
squash courts, tennis courts, snooker, pool
and table tennis. There is also a cafeteria style
restaurant and a fantastic bar. These facilities
are shared by all six Halls - so there is plenty of
opportunity to meet your fellow students and
make new friends.
GREENBANK HALLS OF RESIDENCE
Greenbank Halls are situated in parkland about
three miles from the city centre in the grounds
of Greenbank House, the former home of the
Rathbone family. The area is close to Sefton
Park and has a great choice of shops, bars,
cafés and a cinema.
Each Hall of Residence has a Warden and a
team of Residential Advisors who live in or near
to the Halls. Their role is to provide support and
advice to students and they play an active role
in Hall life. Duty Residential Advisors are also
available in the evenings and through the night
at each Hall in case of emergency.
Derby and Rathbone Hall has a variety of
accommodation available to students and
offers catered and self-catered en-suite
facilities. As the number of en-suite rooms is
very limited they are usually allocated to students
with an unconditional firm offer. If you have a
medical reason for needing an en-suite room
please contact the Accommodation Office.
The facilities on-site are a laundrette at each
Hall, computer room, music room, TV room,
quiet rooms, secured bike stores and sporting
facilities including gym, tennis courts, snooker,
pool and table tennis. There is also a newly
refurbished cafeteria style restaurant and a bar.
These facilities are shared by both Halls – so
there is plenty of opportunity to socialise with
your new friends.
CAMPUS HALLS OF RESIDENCE
The University's main self-catering
accommodation is situated either on or very
close to the University campus. Flats for six
to ten students, sharing bathroom and kitchen
facilities, or self-contained flats for couples are
available. Some en-suite accommodation
is available although it is limited.
Each self-catering residence has a manager
who is responsible for the day-to-day
supervision and management of the residence.
At each residence there is also a team of
Residential Advisors who offer out of office
hours support and advice.
Accommodation costs over the next few
pages are for 2012/2013 and are included
My current accommodation
has allowed me to enjoy the best
aspects of the vibrant student life
that Liverpool has to offer; while
at the same time it has offered
me a refuge when dedicating
My experience of living in
University residences over the
past four years has been very
positive. The campus residences
provide an excellent balance
between having your own
independent space in the city,
and having the support of the
friendly management and
accommodation team. The
Halls have a friendly peaceful
I found that living in halls
in the first year was a great
experience and would really
recommend it to anyone who’s
a long way from home. It’s a
great chance to meet new people
and you have lots of fun!
