1 2006 Bond Program - Oak
Plantation - Phase 1
On Nov. 7, 2006, Austin voters approved
a $567.4 million bond program
comprised of seven propositions. Over
the next four years, this bond program
will invest in and improve Austin’s
infrastructure — from roads and parks
to new public safety facilities and new
cultural facilities. One of the current
projects under construction is Elijah
Street from Dunn Street to Brodie Lane.

2 Improving Austin - Williamson
Creek - Bannockburn Storm
Drain Improvements
Currently under construction, this
project will reduce house, yard and
street flooding in the area bounded by
William Cannon Drive, Convict Hill Road,
Brodie Lane and Robert Burns Drive.
The project includes the installation
of curb inlets, piping systems and a
diversion channel to provide increased
storm drain system capacity. Estimated
completion date is May 2009. Contact

3 Brodie Wild, a 4.4-acre water
quality protection property at the
corner of Slaughter Lane and Brodie
Lane, is a cooperative project between
the Austin chapter of the Native Plant
Society of Texas, the Native Prairies
Association of Texas and the City of
Austin Water and Wastewater
Department Wildlands Conservation
Division. Its goals are protecting water
quality, restoring native vegetation and
habitat, and educating the public about
how to garden with native plants to
protect water quality and reduce water
usage. To meet these goals, the co-op
educates via field trips, handouts and a
kiosk, and restores and maintains the
site as an Edwards Plateau savanna. Visit

5 Former Seattle’s Best Coffee
franchise, located at 9911 Brodie
Lane, recently changed to a Texenza
Coffee drive-through. Owners of the
local coffee retailer previously operated
the Seattle’s Best franchises in Austin
and have re-branded several other
locations from Bee Cave to San Marcos.

8 Hyde Park @ Bannockburn is
a Christian, college preparatory school
system, serving pre-kindergarten
through 12th grade students. It is a
ministry of Hyde Park Baptist Church.

Center is currently under construction
at the corner of Brodie and Davis lanes.
Brodie Park is approximately 30,000 sq.

National Bank, Brodie Nails and
