• Get a <strong>UCSC</strong> ID card. These are available at ID Card Services,<br />
located adjacent to the Bay Tree Bookstore.<br />
• Register for fall classes early, so there won't be any surprises<br />
if you have missing paperwork or something. (For instance, if you<br />
just graduated, you may have to have an <strong>update</strong>d transcript sent to<br />
<strong>UCSC</strong> to prove you got your degree.)<br />
• Get a CA driver's license or ID, and register your vehicle with<br />
the DMV. Even if you do not own the vehicle (like it's your<br />
parents'), technically you must register it anyway within 10 days.<br />
• Besides getting your CA driver's license, do other things that establish<br />
your California residency, like open a bank account, register to vote,<br />
etc. Of course the best way to establish residency is with a<br />
lease/rental agreement.<br />
