Research targets should be a better understanding of different floodplain types,<br />

their hydromorphological conditions and intactness as well as ecology (in<br />

particular a better understanding of ecological processes related to the biological<br />

and physio-chemical quality elements of the WFD and vulnerability based on<br />

comprehensive floodplain inventories across the Danube basin.<br />
